I'm a lefty, so it's very rare for me to just find something I can get my hands on prior to purchase. I walked into a GC and there was a Squier CV 60s P Bass. Since bringing it home, I added DiMarzio Relentless PUPs, a Warmoth roasted maple neck, a Babicz bridge and hipshot ultralites with a D-tuner. Planning to do something similar with a P/J...

Great video and I agree. My favorite bass is very similar. PJ setup, vintage Nordy pups.

Does the volume output on your new pickups match as well as the stock Tony Franklin ones?

Not really but I’m able to compensate by adjusting the pickup height. I’m happy with the volume of the bridge pickup in this setup.

@@SteveBurke I enjoy the sound of your bass so much, I put together my own! It's a Tony Franklin body and American Professional jazz neck. Every PJ i've owned before, the pickups were poorly matched and I almost always ran the P solo. With this one, I make frequent use of all 3 pickup positions, and am happy at how usable they all are. Normally I wouldn't care for a 3 way switch on a 2 pickup bass, but they really are the best option for passive PJs in my opinion. I was trying to post a picture of the bass, but I don't think youtube allows links.

@@SteveBurke Have you ever thought about putting as stacked knob on your Tony Franklin with a pickup pan? Maybe it could share the spot with the master volume. I feel like if it were wired correctly, the pickup pan would only work with the 3 way switch in the middle position. But on either of the outer positions you'd still have the benefits of keeping the other pickup out of the circuit, keeping the "true" P bass tone. I'm really thinking about this mod at the moment for my TF!
