"Be ready to change your mind". Absolutely! We have our traditions but changing our mind, opens up so many opportunities! I avoided pink shirts for years because 'men' thought it was too feminine a color. Fortunately, this only lasted until my early 20's. I tried a pink shirt and loved it! I have pink ties. Great color. Just a nice color for me and now, an extra one because I changed my mind!

I watched all 5 episodes with great interest, and it’s given me inspiration as a young lawyer just starting on the path to building my own. I do notice one item you haven’t gotten to yet (unless you have one already in the works!), and that is the seersucker fabric from the Southern US. Perhaps you will explore this material in a future suit?! Cheers

Slowly building up my bespoke wardrobe, it’s been such an amazing experience already! Can I just thank you for being so down to Earth with all your videos Hugo. I love that you focus on what you DO enjoy, not what you OUGHT to enjoy. Additionally your point about MTM suits I thought was a really nice one to include. One can find some fantastic clothes at comparably lower price points, which only makes the whole field more accessible.

These are quite some bold suits! Congratulations on your bravado! My eyes kept going towards the military uniform, it's.. something else! I've just commissioned a double breasted dark navy blazer with brass buttons, 8x3 and wide lapels. I hope I'll dare to wear it! Cheers

Just watched... A little late. What I really enjoy about your content is how human it is, and honestly that's what I think good style is. You made a 19th century military uniform to answer your inner child... True to yourself beautiful in my opinion. The American in me goes to salinger grabbing the golden ring, and that's what it's all about. A true gentleman knows himself.

Thanks for another great episode. It gets very hot where I am and I am always looking forward to winter so that I can dress up in vests and suits. As it is now Autumn where I am, I am taking the opportunity to dress up. Just last Friday, I took the opportunity to wear a black bowtie with a black vest and almost black pants to work. The asymmetrical bowtie signified that it was not a perfectly symmetrical clip-on tie. And today I was wearing a full Windsor tie with a grey vest. On both these occasions I was wearing shirts with French cuffs as I like to adorn them with cufflinks. Before Covid19, I had made arrangements with my co-workers to dress up for our Not-So-Casual Fridays while everyone else dresses down for casual Fridays.

I am fascinated with the high boots and uniform.

I remember seeing the first video of along this line, I believe it was part 2 or 3. I thought to myself "oh great, another celebrity showing off" - at first at least. When the video ended, I remember wondering "wait, thats it? where is the rest??". Really, really like your videos and appreciate your style.

Hugo, somehow was not getting notification and missed a couple few episodes, caught up with this series. First, congratulations on the weight loss. Second, glad you and Sonya are doing well. Love your "speech" (I am not sure monologue is the right word, see even native speakers can have trouble) at the end. A few years ago, Society shunned me, so gladly shut myself in (I much prefer being alone), wearing long underclothes I drafted/patterned and made. I didn't wear outer clothes due to being afraid to wear out my nice clothes. Now because of the aforementioned encouragement I am going to consider this. The only thing is I have accidently put on about 25 kilograms of muscle over about two years working on restoring Dad's 1964 V.W. Beetle I inherited and now down to three trouser, all my MTM can't button, however, I am blessed I owned three knit polo shirt so have those. Ha. Third, as for Latin blood, are not a large portion of French classified under Romantic ethnicity, same as Italians? If I remember correctly, the Franks were German and Normans are Scandinavian, both Germanic ethnicity. If someone wanted to know there ancestry, the best option is National Geographic DNA heritage test. Fourth, I read through all the comment to be sure not repeating someone else and nothing. Regarding the word(s) for German suits, how about static or conservative? What about French suites being lively and maybe even progressive when compared to traditional suiting? Cheers, Adriel

Nice uniform, its the clodes you love the most you love the most, no need to resist it. When you have the basics down, only joy remines. You dont have to excuse yourself for all your suits, when you make everyone else better, cheering your knowledge and experiances with others, you deserv all the suits you like 😃

I wish you every good luck and it is important to keep the same clothing size if one buys expensive and fine clothes.

Suit 32 situation reminds me of the guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. Yngwie Malmsteen had a Medieval metal battle armor suit customized to fit him because it was also his childhood dream to one day have such a suit.

And, also - not sure if you covered this elsewhere - in the professional world there is this big trend of ‘dressing down’. Suits with no ties, suit pants with shirts only, informal wear. I really do love formal attire and I am saddened to probably having to resort to dressing down to ‘fit in’. What are your thoughts on this?

Fit is everything. My budget is more Macy’s and Express but I have everything tailored. Thankfully I am close to DC and will defiantly make a trip to Enzo Custom in the near future. I have found a well tailored suit is like lingerie for women.

Hi Hugo, I recently discovered this channel and I've been watching and listening to these videos for the past week non-stop. I love your sense of style and your sartorial attitude. I have a few made to measure suits (have always had a penchant for gillets, so they are all tree piece), and am in the process of having two more made, beige summer suit from a nice scabal cloth and a grey check suit. But you have inspired me, I will start to put some thought towards double breasted jackets to go with a few of my suits (think I'll start with one for my navy blue suit ;) Hope you and your beautiful wife are well and healthy, kind regards from Belgium! Is there a step between mtm and bespoke? I went to a shop and the claimed it was bespoke/custom but there are no fittings. They have a mtm option also but don't take nearly the same number of measurments.
