Watching you in the Slam made me try out Chun, and she's so hard. Your anti-airs with MK, the beatdowns you gave, and your clutch supers were so godly to watch.
I just want to show appreciation to the fact you edited your overlay so that we could see all the relevant game info, specifically round results and Super meters.
It is pretty hard to follow every team from the event when you are from EU and working a full time job (mostly followed team Brian, but somehow missed team Nephew every time). I just found out through this video that someone is playing Chun in this event and at such a high level too 😯. Your Chun is really fun to watch, I'm excited for the finals.
Neph is a great coach for the Huntress tier of player. Lets them play their game but gives adjustments at the right times knowing that she can implement it.
Personally, I think its fine. Its a unique chance for the FGC to have an offline at a Twitch event and the participants can make money to justify the time spent away from their normal genre. The offer from Twitch and Capcom came last minute and I think that most people would prefer to get some extra cash, especially in this economy. Before signing up, everyone was informed that they may have the finals at Twitchcon. Sajam also informed me (prior to signing up) that if I couldn't make it to Twitchcon, they would substitute me with someone else. It stinks for those that cannot attend, but its a great opportunity for the rest of the participants. I should also note that the prize pool split is quite "wide" (according to Sajam himself) and everyone who participates at Twitchcon is getting money.
From a general FGC standpoint, I think we really need the representation at a general large event like this too to grow. I think it would be been extremely hard for Sajam to turn down such a big opportunity not only for the people playing, but because it will benefit the entire FGC and hopefully help simulate some growth. I think general twitch audience seeing what an offline FGC even is really like can help change some of the negative perceptions of the FGC and show people what were really about.
