This is the best luggage setup I've seen so far. Simple, effective, easy to mount/un-mount and fantastic! I'm personally using a similar setup with ROK Straps along with a Rynox Navigator 50L Tail Bag & Viaterra POD22L + 12L on my Suzuki VStrom SX 250. Though that Rynox bag is great, it's not all-weather proof like Enduristan. I might just move over to Enduristan 51L for all-weather protection and call it a day. Great setup!

great setup, thanks for sharing, I often wonder why people put up with uncomfortable seats when its so easy to remedy
@TollFreeTraveller
@TollFreeTraveller 3 года назад
On this particular bike the seat isn't very easy to fix given that its a pretty small dual sport. If you have any ideas that might help, would love to hear them.
@vanveen8472
@vanveen8472 3 года назад
@@TollFreeTraveller the problem with most seats is that they are too soft, your not a big man but the seat has to be wide enough to fit your butt, take the cover off which is simple and shave the stock foam off a little bit and if necessary add some foam to the sides to get the desired shape which is like a tiny tractor seat then get some ensolite foam or similar dense foam , 1/4 inch thick is plenty or more if thats what you find and glue it on top, recover and you have a seat you can sit on all day

Such a good video for those of us who like to ride. Every different bike, every different rider, and every different type of touring have different requirements. Rohith's luggage solution is ideal for a small, lightweight bike, and yet it would work for almost any sized bike. If camping is planned, it changes the entire luggage requirement and solution. We've seen that in his older videos on Faith. Most importantly he explains why he has selected each component. Each of us who pack up to head out on our own adventure needs to think about our specific needs rather than just following the crowd. Soft luggage or hard luggage? Panniers or top loaded? Max comfort or minimal? Thank you Rohith for your deep insight! Stay well. One of my co-workers just had to return home to India because his father had fallen very ill with Covid. These are difficult times!
@TollFreeTraveller
@TollFreeTraveller 3 года назад
You are absolutely right that personal requirement and preference is key to determining what will or will not work. Very relevant points that you have mentioned here and I hope that other people watching will also take what may work for them (either the whole setup or part of it) and adapt it to their motorcycle and the type of travel that they may be doing. I hope your co-worker's father has recovered and they are doing well now. My best wishes to you, as always.

Totally agree on the weight . I only had huge bikes last 18 yrs. Bandit 1200s, Vstom 1000, Vstar Touring 1300 , Fz1 and an FJR1300. eppo i have a simple vstrom 650 , armored and a soft bag on the back. I have 60 hp comparing the list running 120 hp plus before. Lighter is better. Here our speed limits are too high and even the mountain switchback we run higher speeds. Some of the climbs the traffic flows at 120-150 kmph . I have a few more comfort as i am 45 ...

When I mo-travel ... less than I'd like to ... I use a similar waterproof duffel on the rear carrier. I've often admired the 'easiness' of Rok straps, but never really moved away from my ratchet straps, primarily because when I've stopped and away from the bike (lunch break) I feel Rok straps are far easier for mischievous people to unclip and get the bag out from underneath. Is the fear unfounded.
@TollFreeTraveller
@TollFreeTraveller 3 года назад
That's a fair concern. As a matter of principle, I seldom ever go anywhere or eat anywhere without the motorcycle being in my line of sight irrespective of how the luggage is secured to my bike, unless of course I am in more remote places where safety of the bike and gear is not really a concern. For someone who doesn't have a need to open up the tailbag during the riding day, ratchets work just as well, for sure. In my scenariom I often need to dig into my bag for some piece of gear in the middle of a ride day too - and in that scenario, the ROK straps offer a nice balance between ease of use and security. Relevant to mention that I also sometimes use the Steel Cable lock system from SteelCore if I know that I'm going to be spending a lot of time on very crowded routes

If it's just highway touring, the Dominar is great (but not ideal for city traffic). The Jawas and Honda CB 350 bikes should be a nice mix for urban use and some amount of highway riding - no trail riding, preferably.

Do you have to adjust the suspension when you are riding with luggage? And then change it again when you are riding without it?

Am a new subscriber and I have been binge watching your videos for the past few days. Can you please make a video on how you plan a trip. As in I would love to do a road trip from hyderabad to Kerala but have no clue on how to plan a route which allows me to make the most of the trip and see as many places as I can enroute. Could you kindly share your process please.

Hey, great to have you here. To be honest, I don't do much planning (which is something I might need to change). I just figure out a vague idea of some of the places that I would like to visit and then set off and plot my route based on things I find on the way or the recommendations of locals. It's all very fluid, which can be very fascinating or frustrating depending on what you discover along the way. But, it's got its own charm too.

@@TollFreeTraveller oh it definitely has its charm and ideally that would be how I would travel too, if I had some experience and confidence that I would be able to manage if things were to to go offrails, as you did when your thunder bird broke! Anyways, Big fan mate! Thanks for the reply.

Nice video... Thanx for showing the luggage setup and the contact URLs in description... ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍 But all the prices seems exhorbident...🙄🙄🙄

There are obviously cheaper luggage options available in the market - if you see where I started (look at lder videos) you will notice that I have improved my setup slowly over a period of time. It makes a huge difference to put together a more high-quality kit. Especially for someone like me who truly makes good use of my gear. Every rupee spent has been worth it with these luggage pieces.

Primary tail bag or tank bag - fully waterproof and least likely points to face any impact in case of a fall.

Hi Bro.. This set up works good for solo riding. What if you have a pillion? Your recommendations. please.
@TollFreeTraveller
@TollFreeTraveller 3 года назад
If you're riding with a pillion, you will need to get side saddle bags or a very very minimal tail luggage setup - personally, I think the Xpulse is too small a bike to ride with a pillion + luggage. It isn't impossible to do, but it is unlikely to be comfortable or ideal.
