A wood carving video - making a Celtic Cross pendant necklace.
The Celtic Cross is a unique design and uses chip carving techniques in order to detail both the face and the sides of the piece.
The tools used were...
- Large gooseneck and large roughing gouge for initial shaping
- Flexcut Mini chip knife (KN20)
- Bradawl
- 1mm homemade chisel
- Our own 'wood butter' (beeswax and Tung Oil blend)
- LED Head Magnifying Glasses Headset (purchased on eBay)
This video was recorded in 3 locations near our home in the pretty village of Abergorlech in the Brechfa Forest, West Wales. Firstly by the river, then up in the woods about 2 miles from our home and then back at the river - where Paul had a quick dip in the river to cool off from the unusually high temperatures we had here in July 2021.
