Note I installed 2 of 8805 1001 and 2 of 8805 1002 Koni FSD shocks
Update 6-13-2023
My experience is that after 9 years 32,000 miles our Bilsteins where wore plum out
porpoising bad after crossing bridges.
So I replaced them with Koni
So now its been 8 years later and 43,000 miles and my Koni ride just as good
as the day I put them on.

Thanks Kevin, just did mine on a 2006 Tiffin Allegro on the W24 chassis. I had the Koni FSD shocks for a while and was dreading this job. Your video inspired me to go ahead and do it, and i am so glad I did. Much improved ride with the Konis! Thanks for the video!

Bilstein shocks have been hands down the best shocks on the market for years.

Sorry that was not my experience, after 10 years the Bilstein Shocks were flat wore out bouncing me down the road as we drove. I have 7 years on the KONI FSD Gold and they are still providing the same great ride. IMHO

@@ktoutdoor I have been in the automotive industry for forty years and used both products on the road and racing. The hype and price on the Konis for the motorhome market is interesting. You will find Bilstein shocks on every manufacturers street vehicles and trucks. Ten years on any set of shocks is way to long in any application let alone heavy duty use. Good luck with your choice.

Just installed my Konis. I used my Milwaukee 1/2" impact and it made those nuts zip right off. I had the front done in 20 minutes. Mine is a 2003 W22. The rear is a 15/16 nut on bottom. I had the rear done in 15 minutes. It had the original shocks; which were absolutely shot! Thank you for another helpful prep video!

Did you put your leveling jacks down during the install or removal? I'm getting ready to tackle mine soon. Thanks in Advance.

Its been a while but it makes sense seeing how they were a gas shock so raising up the frame would extend the shocks so you would not have to compress them in order to remove.

I have a workhorse W18 (Four Winds Hurricane) and the chassis is from 2009 but the RV was built in 2010.....it's now 2022...I need new shocks, sumo springs, anti sway bars (front and back) as well....I dont like driving down the road like a pinball....

Video ended before I heard your review. Was the time & $500+ bucks worth it in improvement in ride & handling

Yes that was a few years back but they are still working great, it really helped with the bouncing after we crossed a bridge. It did not help much with the side to side motion we get when we transfer from one road to another like when you pull out from a gas station sometimes and the roads are at different levels.

@@ktoutdoor I understand the Koni FSD are adjustable. Did you play with that at all, and if so, how?
@ktoutdoor

@@geneduclos4003 Note the FSD are self adjusting NOT adjustable see this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XcLiq2q3S1k.html

Blistex (lip balm) vs Bilstein (shocks)?? Blistex, the "I" is after the "L" (Bliss-tex). Bilstein, the "L" is before the "I" (Bill-stein). So now we all know the difference for pronunciation purposes. ;)
