Hello! I've had a few requests and questions on this topic, so I created a video that will hopefully be helpful! I find mandalas very relaxing and meditative and overall, a joy to color...and I hope you will too!

I find it helps a lot to plot each color instead of working from the center out or the border in. I tend to start with the background, so I will fill in the obvious places and then really look at the design and find other areas that may have not been as obvious where that color can go. Then choose another feature, and place that color everywhere it's appropriate. I find plotting by color helps with balance, so colors are evenly distributed across the design.. and really helps to avoid getting to a place where you get stuck because you didn't notice the overall balance or features of a design and suddenly can't avoid color running into each other, or realize a smaller section is actually part of a larger image within the whole. Also shading really takes a manadala to the next level. Sometimes it's nice and relaxing to just fill in, but if you have the desire to make it special spend the time to shade and highlight each section.

Very nice! Sounds like a perfect process! I do shade some of my Mandalas in some places, depending on how I feel.

A very useful video! This year, I actually also wanted to start coloring a mandala and just try it. And I really struggle with, which colors to choose. I also thought about Sarah Renae Clarks color catalogue. I also wanted to ask some other color tubers, that color mandala to make a video about it. I love how you explain things! I used to view mandalas as a lot of work or I'd get confused with the designs. I wish I had thought of finding a background a long time ago. You have completely changed my mind about mandalas :)
