R1000 is 10% of R10 000. It is not possible to get that income every month from only one investment. 10% is usually an annual return, not a monthly return otherwise that would mean the investment gives a total return of 120% annually and there is no investment on earth which gives 120% annual returns. It is simply impossible. It's very important to have realistic expectations of what is possible otherwise you are setting yourself up for disappointment and disaster

Yes I do but my JSE stocks are the smallest percentage of my portfolio with my largest holding being Purple Group (the mother company of Easyequities). I prefer to diversify outside of South Africa because I already have a lot of South African exposure through my pension fund, retirement annuity, savings account etc
