I wouldn't want to work at a place that doesn't allow tattoos or piercings or stretched ears. Employers who think like that will never see your actual qualities, only their own stereotypes.
So I told my mom that I want to stretch my ears and she was like sure and i was like umm ok so I ordered an ear stretching kit but the thing is MY EARS AREN'T PIERCED LMAO so next month im getting my ears pierced and at the end of 2019 im gonna start stretching - **edit** omg wtf 657 likes!! Thank you, btw I got my ears pierced with a needle and I've had them pierced for about 8 months, I'll wait another month just in case, i might make a video about my ear stretching journey too :))
Go to a tattoos/piercing shop and tell them you want to start stretching your ears. They will help you get the right placement and possibly get piercing at a slightly bigger gauge (normally it's 20g). Also it's more sanitary and you're less likely to have complications without a piercing gun.
@@autumnlee5108 that's better than a 20g. Most earring places (Claire's, piercing Pagoda) will pierce at a 20 because that's the standard for most earrings. At a 16g you'll be 2 sizes up. They aren't that big of a jump, but it'll save you time going from 20 to 18 to 16. I was able to go 16 easily even with not having my earring in for a year.
If you ever miss your stretched ears and are in the workforce, just know you can always choose jewelry that will just make it look like you are wearing large earrings (in case you wanna stretch them back). I have my second lobes stretched to 0g and work in a hospital. I stopped at 0 because any bigger would make it harder to hide. I usually wear solid plugs that look like big pretty studs or clear glass plugs. A lot of people at work don’t know my ears are stretched till they see the back of my ear (which never happens) or if I tell them. You can still be your edgy self, ya just gotta look professionally edgy lol if that makes sense.

You were a total inspiration for my stretched ear ,i watched your stretching video every time I stretched my ears lol. I’m now at 8mm or 0g and I plan on going to 18mm. You do you and you can just stretch your ears again if change your mind. I’ve accepted my ears and when I work I want people to see my work over me. Also just wear and present yourself as whatever makes you comfortable and happy
Don't always assume you cannot have mods as a successful adult! I'm 30 and have 1" lobes, as well as scarification. I'm a senior system administrator at a global company near Boston. Of course it depends on how relaxed your company is.
Idk it’s impossible for me to get into the military because I stretched my ears in highschool now 21 with a daughter and wish I could get in for stability.
@@Gettinbentoffroadthe military is a little different lol. They check you from head to toe. But when I was in I had to take them out so I feel you on that. But a different career I’m sure you could get more discrete plugs and you’d be okay
I'm planning on going to 12mm, so I'm glad to know there's a change it will shrink all the way in the future. I am also quite young, and I've heard that the younger you are, the easier it is to down size
AlexHermit it wouldn’t shrink all the way back down (because of the elasticity of your ear). it’ll look smaller but the thing is it’ll never return to what a standard normal ear piercing looks like with a tiny tiny whole but then again if you stop at 12mm your ears could close up smaller then mine

My tattoes and streched ears have never stopped me getting a job as far as I know. I'm 50, yes that old an assistant manager with my own office so.....
I work at a hospital as a phlebotomist and we have doctors with stretched ears and full tattoo sleeves. We also have nurses with colored hair, tattoos and stretched ears. Our hospital feels it doesn’t effect your work ethic.

As someone who is a little bit older than you (I'm 28) I just want to say that I applaud your maturity to have the forethought of what stretching can do in the long run and knowing there may be a day when you couldn't/wouldn't want a big hole in the ear. It's always a bummer when you have to take out a body mod but most people the age you were when you did stretch your ears wouldn't have had the forethought to think ahead toward the future.
I’ve literally just started this journey myself 😂 I turned 26 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden out of no where a lot of my style preferences changed. I’m growing out my undercut, took out some of my facial piercings, and took out my plugs 3-4 days ago. They were 8mm and 7.5mm so they’ve already shrunk so much. Hoping they’ll continue to shrink. Using vit e and rose hip oil to help them out ✨ will update with my experience later💖
i remember watching your videos on you stretching your ears (because i was/have 3 different times) and now letting my stretched ears closed too (its coming full circle !! )
I went to 7/16 and stretched my ears the right way. I was patient and never forced the next size up through. When I decided to take them out I slowly went backwards. I thought the jewelry would fall out but it didn’t. Well now that I’m all done my ear piercings aren’t sized down completely. I would easily fit a 16 or 14 gauge threw it. I haven’t had my ears stretched for almost three years. I have no damage to my lobes and I can wear regular earrings unless it’s a tiny stud. I can push a tiny stud right through. I’m thankful I don’t have big yawning and gaping holes in my ears. To anyone wanting to stretch, I really advise you do it slowly. I know it’s exciting and you want to stretch your ears as big as you want now, but it’s worth it to be patient. In high school I had a friend who couldn’t wait to stretch her ears so she went to a parlor and they just punched a size 0 hole in her ear. Like a paper hole punch. Of course they got horribly infected and her skin started to heal over the jewelry which she had to get cut out.
Oh that's a relief, I really wanna go to a 00g and was kinda worried about the consequences it might've had, I'm a volunteer at a cancer research shop for now and my boss is ok with tats and peircings as long as they're not offensive.
I was at a 2g for so long. Just the other day I tried to see if 0g would slide in and it did, no biggie. So now at a 0g and I’m in love with my earlobes, so cute!!! Your video makes me sad at the thought of me having to do the same. Currently a jr in college so like ahh but I’m not planning on taking them out anytime soon

Haha you were my inspiration for stretched ears! My parent unfortunately found out and made me take them out. I was a 2G and it’s been a little over 4 months and I’m back to normal. I used to LOVE sticking Q tips and pencils through my ears. I miss them and I’m thinking about doing it again. I’m just worried that after round 2, if I change my mind, they won’t go back to normal. My ears heal really quickly so idk
My ears used to be 16mm or 5/8” before I decided to close them. Everyone was like “you’ll have to get surgery to close those. And all I did was leave my plugs out and they shrunk now, to 6g. They don’t look 6g unless I tug on them, they just look like tiny vertical slits on my lobe. It’s hard to shrink them anymore than this.
Something i find really funny is that i think i FOUND your videos several years ago when i was planning to stretch up from a 16 to a 4, and now ive found you again while having seconds thoughts ahahaha. Yay healthy ear lobes!
I think im going to do my best to go back down to normal. If i REALLY hate it, then i still have all my gauges and can just work my way back up again. We shall see!
I had my 00g for 7 years and I just took them out two weeks ago to stat closing them. Luckily, they're closing pretty well. You can still see through it but you could definitely see the difference. There was a difference within just five days. I took mine out for the same reason, college and trying to go to the nursing field.
How are they now if you don’t mind sharing and are still active? I was at a 00g for 7 years as well and just took mine out a week ago. I’m already wearing post earring but wondering how much more I can expect them to go.
@thegrumpyhorticulturist Did you go down a size at a time or just took them out and left it? I've had 00g for 10 years, just started closing them up recently. I've been at 2g for a couple of weeks now and they fall out overnight sometimes (never fell out at 00g), bit concerned they aren't closing up very fast.
2g is still a size that is "professional" since you can wear plugs with no hole through it and it looks like a stud. I have 2g and im in a office "professional" setting at work and my employer has never questioned it once. So if you really like them and aren't just sick of them (which is totally fair) you should bring them back! Even going to a 6g, its a little smaller but still has a great selection of jewelery.
One of my ears was easier to stretch than the other. It was your right one. I just watched your stretching videos a couple days ago and remember you jumping around in pain on your left ear when you went to 6g.
Very informative and cool to see your journey. I'm old now and stretching again. I decided to max out at 2g, as you did. Just makes the most sense for me. I like the look of 2g and the variety of options in that size. And if I ever tire of it, I take them out, and it's fine. Not everyone is in a contest to go bigger and not everyone needs a confirmation from someone else on what looks "good." I admire your drive and also your practicality. Who knows, some day you may be in a place in life, like I am, where stretching them out a bit is acceptable. Good luck in whatever you do. 👊🏻
I watched your ear stretching video in 2014 when I was thinking about stretching mine 😭😭 I ended up doing it that year I still have them stretched and will definitely rewatch this video when I decide to close mine 😊
I’m glad it closed nicely.....I watched your videos and was worried u were stretching too fast cause u were doing it every 8 days which is CRAZY! You should have waited about 2 months between stretches. Side note I have stretched ears....5/8 I’m in it for the long haul.....I don’t like “normal” ears on me.
What work force doesn't allow stretched ears? Three friends of mine are ICU nurses that have a variety of things- including stretched ears. I make 55k and am 30; currently stretching while managing. Unless you live in the deep South or plan to do construction, most places are becoming modernized.
you could always just buy plugs that look like regular earrings. some have big jewels on the front or are solid so it doesnt really look like you have stretched ears
Had my 00 for over a decade and they closed very quickly. I think I'm a size 4 or 6 now. Doesnt matter how long you've had them, only if you have scar tissue from blowouts.

omg i watched your video to learn how to stretch my ears and now i’m watching your vid to close my ears to let them fully heal and then i’m going to re- stretch them but being smart this time and waiting for at least a month before each size up.
My ears were the same size as yours. Took my stretches out months ago and they still haven’t shrunk back to a normal size. I can only wear earrings if they’re bigger than my holes. So far I haven’t seen any stretch marks or wrinkles though so that’s a bonus.
I have a 0g and want to start shrinking to be more professional. When I first started stretching I heard that 0g was kind of the last size to go to if you wanted to shrink down later. I just have one question(only half way thru the vid), I want to shrink relatively quickly so I kind of want to just take them out and leave the gaping hole to shine! Lol so do I just leave it like that or just stretch backwards by wearing smaller gauges gradually?
I definitely regret going over a 2. For the same reasons as you. Only when I was a teenager I decided to stretch mine to 9/16 so... after having them out for over 2 years surgery here I come
I stretched my ears up to 9/16ths and they’re almost back to normal now after about 4 months out. I took them out for similar reasons as you and also still miss mine a lot. It’s such a love hate relationship haha
I want to shrink my 2g’s down but I’m wondering if I can just take out my tunnels and leave it like that? I don’t have smaller jewelry and I don’t want to buy sizes down but to not wear them again
i'm at 2 g (6mm) atm and i just love my tiny gauges but also think about going up to 00g almost once a week xD tho it's the same for me as for you: i don't wan't to pay 4 surgery one day and i'm kinda worry about my future n stuff. however as i did my research on streching i read that if you want to shrink back in size, you're supposed to put in jewellery with a smaller gauge time by time. so it would be from 6mm to 5mm, from 5mm to 4mm and so on. i tend to remeber that you're supposed to shrink one size a month. so it goes the same way as streching and the ear has actually more time to shrink back.
im just tired of always having to clean them, and like yeah i know its not that hard to but i got a busy life and i really miss wearing dangle earrings and hoops so i'm here now
Was it painful to shrink ur ears? I heard it can be a slight painful when the ears go back to bein' normal.. I have seen ur ear stretching video & it was crazy to see that u let them go back to normal.. Just curious😊😊

How quickly your ears shrunk is crazy to me. I've had my ears stretched from 14g to 0g for 4 years, left them out for 3 years and they shrunk down to a 4g, recently started stretching them again and can leave them out for days/weeks with only the tiniest amount of change, usually only needing to get the tunnels wet with warm water to put them in without discomfort; However I decided on letting them close up but I'm not sure they would, should I try stretching up a size and not leaving the jewelry in and just seeing if the swelling helps them close?

I used to watch your ear stretching videos when I was stretching mine lol. I think I went up to a 6g if I remember correctly, but I didn't go any higher or lower in number. I took them out due to personal reasons and since it wasn't a big "hole" it went back to normal pretty quick and it didn't leave any wrinkles. They looked like a regular piercing. I'm not even wearing any earrings for a while now and you can't tell they were once a bit stretched lol.
People say a 00g is the farthest point but I went to a half inch and they closed up, currently stretching back up. But if you use the right oils and moisturize daily, they will close.
my ears never closed back completely and i kind of regret it even though my 14 year old self was like “I’m NOT GONNA REGRET IT THIS IS WHAT I WANT” and i stretched my ears to a 00 in 3 months behind my parents back at 14 and now I’m stuck with ear holes at a 8g or a 6g and i hate it so much because i can’t wear normal earrings because they fall out 😭
who knows...you may find a job with a company that is very accepting of tattoos and piercings...btw my ear was stretched to inb between 0 and 00 which is 9mm...and i took it out and it went back to normal size...but i have a 12g cbr hoop in it now
I've tried to get my normally pierced ears to close because the holes started looking more like slits which wasn't aesthetically pleasing to me. Now, the holes ARE closed (I can't get any earrings through anymore) but these ugly slits are still there and I honestly don't know what to do. (Sorry btw if I haven't used the proper terms but English isn't my first language)
A question to all of you who are experienced with piercings: how do I effectively get rid of dry skin around my piercing hole? (it's a normal lobe piercing) I've had the piercing for about a year now and due to an allergic reaction to a jewelry I tried they were infected. They're now healed but there's dry skin all around and idk what to do ;-;
I had 00g then let them “close up” as much as I could. However they do not ever go back to the original size. Which For reference, is a 20g. After letting it close, It *looks* normal, but I can still push in a 6g pretty easily On any given day. So it’s still roughly 6- 7 sizes larger than the original piercing.
I'm a 00 and I decided to take my tunnels out. While they are closing do you recommend leaving an earring in there to keep it from closing all the way?
Isabella Hoy it won’t close all the way. When I decided de-stretch my ears, I just took the next size down and wore them for a month. As you keep going down it doesn’t take as long to shrink. I would also take all jewelry out at night. I didn’t like the look of an open hole. Your piercing shouldn’t close all the way even if you choose to wear nothing while you wait for them to shrink.
