Thanks for the video...I was searching for the mirror display and you provide very good information. Now I can buy iPad 9 generation or 10 generation due to mirror display. 🥰😀😃
Interesting to see a setup using the ipad as the main computer. I know these were strong and can do it, but I thought it was just for travel or other light situations.
Hi Mindy, why can't I see the "extended display" tab? And can't see the "adjustment" tab as well. I have the earlier Ipad Pro version, 2018 I think. Btw, I have a Uperfect portable monitor.
Yay! A new video! Always love these, such a soothing voice and I love how honest you are! No classic "this is amazing everything is amazing, here's a link with 10% off" XD
Thank you for your comment and for watching!😊 I try to share my experiences as an average user like most of us are (but you can still find a 10% code somewhere in the video description 😉😆)
Is it possible to do this on an iPad Pro 3rd gen on iOS 14? My brother's LCD screen broke and my dad made a plan to just connect it to a monitor using a cable to use it Also, if it's connected to a monitor, would you be able to use a keyboard and mouse?
Hi, Thanks for this video, The hub you are using (lention usb-c hub) supports 4k@30Hz only. I am using 4K monitor and trying to connect my ipad with it, does this affect the experience because its not 60Hz? 4k@60Hz hubs are little expensive 💰💰
what hubs are compatible to get 4k. Someone told me i need to use thunderbolt 3 or 4 docks. the anker 8-1 that i am using support 4k 60hz but for some reason i am only getting 2560 x 1440 on the external display. idk. please help
While ipad (mine is ipad 10th gen) is connected to monitor, do I have the option to turn off ipad screen and just work with monitor? Thanks for any answers.
Nice video, just one help…how do you set up the Audio output ? If i connect AirPods or Bluetooth headphones with my iPad it doesn’t work it connects to external display speakers which is not that good…so any help ? Thanks
i have the same benq monitor but how do i lower down the volume? when i press the ipad volume settings, the volume doesn’t move to lower or higher volume on the in built speaker
I think your audio is coming out of the monitor’s speakers, so you have to adjust the volume in the monitor’s controls. But, your timing is great as I just made a video about how to use the iPad’s speakers, check it out! ru-vid.comg-XbCze74qg?si=dDqsGeiSKgfc6h4l
I had the same problem with my ipad air 5th gen. If you dont have the arrangement setting under the displays, its because of the adapter. Not all adapters work. I tried a few and after trying the lention one from the video it worked! I was able to arrange the display with the right adapter. So basically you need the expensive version of hdmi adapters.
Also make sure you’re using an iPad with the M1 chip or better, as currently only the iPad Air and Pro M1 and newer support this feature known as “Stage Manager”.
It’s really just a big pain in the ass no easy solution and I found that the iPad pro M2 with XDR has a much better screen then 90% of the monitors out there. This video seems to be just more Clickbait to sell a lot of products.👺
nope. I suggest you to checkout my other video where I showed the iPad Mini 6 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a-EUcT2bmgo.htmlsi=sL9MzCSqR2Qb_LgZ
Audio will not come out of the iPad’s speakers when connected to an external display. I showed how you can get audio in my other video, check it out! How to use iPad with external monitor in 2023? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a-EUcT2bmgo.html
This is weird but sound comes out of the iPad if you use a DisplayPort cable. I had the same Lention hub with HDMI as in the video, and it turns out with HDMI iPadOS just sends audio to the monitor. If you use DisplayPort, it defaults to iPad. I think they might have added a toggle now in control center as well but I’m not sure.
it looks like there is now an option to select the iPad’s speaker when connected to the monitor, just noticed it today! Go to Control Centre and in the Now playing top right icon, you can change the audio output from there.
I’ve only used this monitor I am using now, so I cannot recommend anything else. It’s a Benq monitor. For usb-c hubs, I have mentioned 2 in the video. For your M1 iPad Air, I also mentioned this in the video that it supports Stage Manager and external monitor display.

I showed that in my other video when I used a bluetooth speaker instead, check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a-EUcT2bmgo.htmlsi=ygBdJycNxa9FoU7A&t=135,

Nice setup! Does the iPad Pro support higher Refresh Rates for external monitors, too? Would suck to have Promotion on the iPad but needing to lock my external monitor to 60hz..
Can I connect my iPad to a Lenovo laptop? And can I also make my iPad as the main monitor and use it with the keyboard instead of using my laptop as the main computer? Basically I wanna be able to use the iPad and hook a keyboard up to the iPad while it sent to my Lenovo laptop but I want to use the laptop as an extra screen and not the main computer.
help why is mine wot working..? it says no signal detected i use ipad pro m1, i even bought the same benq monitor but 22 inch and i use ugreen usb c hub.. i got too excited now im depressed
sorry to hear that you are having this issue. I am not using a ugreen usb-c hub so I do not know if this works with the iPad and the monitor. What I see others are having issues on is that the iPad is not extending the display and just mirroring to the monitor. But yours is that there is no display at all, right? I imagine you have tried to plug in the charger too, tried another hdmi cable if available?
@@MindyC the hub seems to be working on my sisters macbook and i guessed it doesn’t support ipados only macos i should have researched more🥹ill just buy another hub and thanks
