This San Diego mountain of trails is such a fun one. Ever since I moved out to California my friends would take me here to ride. But for years I would avoid these rocks. The first rock roll took me a long time to finally conquer! And this second one.....well it still had me scared. There was something about it, the run up into the rock and the steepness after. All that put together just had me soooo scared that every time I came back to it I happily walked away. In the back of my mind I always knew I could do it but I could never bring myself to even think of attempting it. Until one day, recently, my good friend Rachel Strait sent me a video of her conquering it. I was sooooo happy and so proud. She was one of the friends that I would go riding with here and we would always sayyyy ehhh nah not today on that rock roll. After seeing her successfully hit it...I asked her to take me to conquer my fears! She said yes and we met up at the trailhead. We were with her two friends Jesse and Jeff, two humans filled with patience haha. I finally grew the courage to hit both rocks in one day and made it out with the biggest smile on my face. Thank you to this crew for making this a day to remember.
