Nothing like a long tub soak at the end of a cold or stressful day. Turn off the news, turn on some music, light a candle & sink into a tub filled with fragrant bubbles. Heavenly.
Absolutely love your videos. I too rise early. Love gardening, baking and home decor. I would love to get your magazines. I'm a 61 year old woman that enjoys a great glass of wine and doing what I love. I'm a southern girl and we are kindred spirits.
We put in a new shower with glass doors 19 months ago and have never had to clean it with anything harsh. We use an e-cloth to wipe the doors after every shower, and a chamois on the tile. We have very hard water too. Beautiful bathroom, love the alcove.
Oh my gosh Linda, I had just taken a break from cleaning my bathroom (letting a cleaner soak) and watched your video. The timing was impeccable. When we purchased this house it had a glass shower door, something I was not excited about due to the cleaning of it. I quickly mixed up your cleaner and it worked!!!! Now, if you could find a way for us over 50 ladies to lose those unwanted pounds, you would be my forever hero! Lol. Have a beautiful weekend Linda!
Love everything you did!! All the perfect touches to make your bath so luxurious!! Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!! Hope your having a great weekend!!❤️
This is just what I was looking for. Your design sense and your tips were on point!! Your homemade bath salts are something I will be trying. Thank You!!
I use that vinegar and Dawn dish soap mixture to clean almost everything and it is fantastic. It has an overpowering odor so I put it in an empty repurposed squeeze bottle instead of a spray bottle so it doesn't aerosolize. I also take baths in Epsom salts or magnesium flakes when my arthritis is flaring or my muscles are sore. It really does help.
Linda you are indeed INCREDIBLY.... (Project Mtg too for the bathroom?!), absolutely AMAZINGLY bathroom!!! Love the Wall Scone Lamps, the Paint Color and even the Rabbit Frame Picture and the Silver Sugar Dish...(can't take my eyes off!) I periodically go back and visit your old video's for a 2nd time, and wondering if you miss this bath now at Sugarwood?!
It’s soooo gorgeous. That mirror...and those sconces, and all the silver! It’s hard to take out a fireplace, but after moving into a Paris apartment with four of them, I realized just how hard they can be to work around. Haven’t removed any yet, but totally get why you did. The result is stunning. I may take out the one our small kitchen one of these days.
Luckily the chimney was to two burners in the basement and not a fireplaces. I think I would have us sleep in twin beds if that wasn't the case LOL. What we did have to do was replace the old burners with a new wall hung system, but it was worth it and so much more efficient. It allows us the ability to open up the kitchen too!
Gorgeous bathroom. I love that alcove tub! I also love making bath salts. Bath bombs are my favorite! I’m so pleased you get to enjoy Rhode Island so much.
I love watching and your beautiful home. I have had colonial furniture and decor for over 50 years. To me it is timeless but it is very difficult to find colonial decor in today’s world. I would love to go to thrift stores but with my age and Covid-19 it’s not possible so I am so thankful for your videos. I feel like I am visiting a friend in her lovely home. Thank you 😊
I do hope you have planned the tub such that the plumbing is accessible should a problem arise. Our installer did not think into the future and now that a pipe leakage problem appeared, some plumbers would not tackle the repair.
I have a squeege in the shower and everyone has to use it after their shower. That works great and only take a few seconds. I use the vinaiger and down trick also. Great ideas ! I will transform my bathroom into a spa by using some of your ideas. Great way to pamper yourself during the confinement period we have to live throw.
Hahaha! I make everyone use the Squeegee in my showers too! My family says I’m obsessed about it. 😳 I tell them if they had to clean the glass spots all of the time they would understand. And, what the vinegar and down trick?? I need in on this.
What a wonderful bathroom. Love the soaking tub. I also prefer a long relaxing bath. Gil Schafer is one of my favorite architect. I also have two of his books and love browsing through them all the time . His style is timeless in my opinion. Thanks for sharing the glass cleaner recipe and how you make your bath salts .
Your master bath turned out beautifully! My husband and I purchased a uptown condo five years ago after living in our large country home we built twentynine years ago. Our condo is beautiful modern/scandinavian,very different from our house. When choosing the design elements for the condo,we decided on a walk-in shower with no door's,it's very interesting 😳 Basically you walk around a tiled wall into the very large shower, you could have a party in there. Without door's, even with the heated floors, it's pretty chilly. We have a gas fireplace in the master bedroom,so l turn the fireplace on before showering and it helps to warm me up but l do miss the glass shower at our old house 🙂🍁
Linda could you please and make sure you put a photo of the bathroom on Pinterest? I follow you and am planning on a redo of my master bath. Love the look you created! Thank you ❤️
I loved this! I wish I would have had better ideas when we remodeled our bathroom four years ago...but, I'll make the best of it and use some of your wonderful ideas!
Cindy, The paint color Linda used, looks very similar to my Dining Room, Sherwin Williams "Magnetic Gray" (Blue Gray) SW 7058. I have the "Silver Strand" SW7057 in our Great Room and it's just a tone lighter. An Interior Designer had used these colors in 3 Display Homes near our home in NC. I adored the Displays Homes, and copied the paints, dark wood floor, similar drape color / pattern and similar upholstered furniture and obtained my own new Display Home! I love the paint colors and it's been 8 yrs and the paint colors are still trending in design yet today. We will be moving soon, and I am going to use the SAME colors in our new home. I don't think, I will ever live in a house with different colors other then these in my main rooms. I also used "Original White" SW 7077 ( just a hint of grashing lavender/pink), in the Hallway. Good Luck!
Everything looks amazing Linda. I love the shade of blue in your bathroom....very soothing. Thank you for the recipe for the bath salts. I didn’t Know about Epsom salts but I did know they contain magnesium..great for aches and pains. I would love to have that soaking tub..you created a really nice place for calm and serenity 🥰
I redid my bathrooms last year, both are my oasis. Finally after years love my master bath. My guest bath has a very similar floor. So classic and timeless! Wow, I buy shower door cleaner, going to try the vinegar mix. Now I am looking for silver plate to store bath salts, bath bombs
WOW I can't believe it... I'm redoing my condo and today I started the guest bathroom. It will be Victorian (would love to do a soaking tub),Im not able to get in and out (getting up in age 😉) xoxo really enjoyed your channel.
For natural stone, use isopropyl alcohol in your recipe instead of vinegar. Alcohol won’t etch the stone, dries streak free, and if you allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes, will help to disinfect, as well.
Hi Linda, just wanted to tell you that the Dawn green apple is not dish soap it's an antibacterial hand soap. I made the same mistake but caught on right away and took it back to the store. I asked them why they put it with the dish soap and nobody knew????
What a lovely spa/bathroom! I am so impressed with your abilities. I love hearing the “deals” you found while purchasing and planning the room! I found a pedestal sink once for $20.00 and every time I walked into the bathroom, I had immense pleasure over that sink. Haha! I have a book by Gil Schafer too-A Place To Call Home. See, I knew we were kindred spirits! I love that book. I also love the glass cleaning hint that you gave us. I am going to try it out today. I have labored so much over my shower to no avail. Hard water and soap scum are no joke! I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you.
I have the original clawfoot tub in my 1929 house. Everyone and their Aunt Millie thought I should rip it out and "modernize". Oh, heck no! My house is not fancy but I enjoy those soaks just the same. If I had the money the plumbing would get an upgrade but that cozy porcelain tub will stay as long as I'm here. I am the only bath-taker in my family but I make the most of it. 🛀
Wi loved the video, also the colour of the bathroom. Is the magazine New England Fine Living available for Canadians by subscription , I get Southern Living this way. Thank you in advance.
Love your master bath home spa! I only have a shower in mine... can you recommend some of those bath bombs for the shower? I'd love some with a citrus scent to help wake me up in the mornings! Love the faucet fixtures too. The shower glass cleaner recipe is a great one - I have used it!
Lovely video, well done! Just to let you know, the salt in the sugar container is not a good idea, unless is solid silver. The salt will find its way and it will start “eating” into the metal very soon. And that sugar container is way too nice to ruin it. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. ❤️
@@newenglandfineliving what you can do to put in that container is a bath milk, using powder milk, baking soda and starch and of course you can use flavours and scents!
