I deadass cut my hair to my shoulders and gave myself bangs with craft safety scissors and everyone thought i had gotten it professionally cut. Not sure how I feel about that, slightly concerned and empowered I think, lol.
Explanation: hair scissors are sharper than normal scissors and scissors need to be sharp because else you might get spliss more easily. Sorry for my english im not a native and its 3am
@@cheyanneblackmon6918 that's what I did like in July of 2020 I cutted my hair up to my shoulders and I regretted it and it literally damaged my hair so much it started getting frizzy and since my hair grow fast(genes) I got my long hair back in just 7 months and it's back to normal what a wonderful story😔✊
If you’re considering getting bangs I would first suggest holding your hand/a piece of paper across your forehead and seeing if you still like your face shape. Bangs can be used to hide a larger forehead and can drastically change your face shape so it’s important to think of how it would change your face shape beforehand, as certain styles (such as full bangs) only fit certain shapes. Also, think of what you’d be willing to do for styling. I got bangs last year and they require you to style them every day, which I’m fine with and rather enjoy, but one of my friends got them after me and she absolutely HATES the maintenance required for them (you also have to cut them every 3-4 weeks). Next, find photos online of what style of bangs you want so that when you go to the salon you can show them (photos are a lot better than trying to describe what you want). If/When you do go to a salon, ask the hairdresser for an honest opinion on what they think would look good. I’ve been going to my hairdresser for years now and I told her to be brutally honest with me as to whether she thinks I’d look good. Also, PLEASE don’t try to cut them yourself the first time. It’s much easier to trim them yourself after they’ve been cut the first time, since you probably have zero training and RU-vid tutorials aren’t always the best. Side note: if you have a hair part that is really far to the left or right you might want to try and slowly adjust it to the centre before you try to get bangs, as you’ll have to deal with your cowlick making your bangs appear uneven for a while until your hair adjusts.

Last time I cut by bangs I cut them shorter than expected bc they weren't even and I kept trying to fix them and it kept getting shorter and shorter 😭💀 my family laughed at me 💀
guys I did it and I just wanna say if you wanna do it, do it. if you're going for a see through / wispy / korean style bangs look, then even if you don't like it, it won't be hard to hide or clip away. always cut longer than what you think is good enough first!! (because the hair often bounces up, and also don't hold the hair taught like a tightrope bc then it'll definitely end up way shorter than you wanted). just thought I'd share some tips sorry it's kinda long lmao

lol, every time i get bangs I regret it and then as soon as they grow out I get them again and regret it. It's a neverending cycle. I have hair exactly the same as Sophie's in Mamma Mia so if I have bangs they just curl back and it doesn't look like I even have them.

Lol I’ve heard that there are a lot of people who are scarred from having bangs as a kid but the only good thing about having thin bangs is that, if you do get them, they’re easy to just part to the sides.

They kinda look weird but I love them sm. Soo my hair kinda burnt when I straightened them because I put the straightener on 350° I believe and it was a chi straightener so it gets SUPER hot. I normally put it on the highest setting but it’s not a good idea with bangs. I mean it might work if you don’t dye your hair every 2 weeks but all I’m saying is it didn’t work for me. Anyways. I love them so much and recommend following this tutorial. They do make my face look chubby but I kinda like the look. Thx for the tutorial

Did you part your hair into a triangle part and cut? Or did you create a horizontal part and cut? Just went to a hairstylist and my bangs looks awful, I'm going to try to fix them when they grow out.
