Nice set up man need to get my hands on a og style mixer & get away from my ddj Rx big clunky thing had a big love/hate relationship with that board, it's packed full of features but having your decks layered sucks ass! Keep up the good work man
i would recommend trying out a d2 con troller . you will be amazed how much you can do with it. youll have good size screen and switch on the fly from controller to midi mapped controller. you can change your pitch from 0 to 100 or 100 to 0 on any deck etc
i've always wondered why they discontinued those, they look awesome. Hopefully they bring a new version back. I just bought a second K2 and have been working on mapping it over the past few weeks, so i'm going to be stuck with that setup for a while. Thanks for watching!
I love the video. I have been looking for quite some time for a video clearly showing how to mount a compact set up with Traktor. I don't use Traktor as yet, but I use extensively a Maschine and I always wanted to integrate a more musical improv feature to my DJing. I use a DDJ-1000 with rekordbox, but I always got bored after 30 min as I wanted to do more, other than playing tracks. I also love Native Instruments products, so I was interested in Traktor, but I didn't want to buy a DJ controller, so the A&H K2 or the Traktor X1 seem a budget-friendly option. Great video and great mixes as well =)
Thank you for the feedback. If you have a proper mixer like an AH with sends on each channel, you can easily integrate Ableton or Bitwig and make a live hybrid set, so your Maschine would be tons of fun. Saving for a PX5 so i can do this, and then I’ll make a video on that.
@@djbonlando Well, I only have the Maschine and I don't want to blow up a huge pile of cash.... hehe. I play with my Arturia Minibrute 2s and wanted to integrate my synth and eurorack setup with Maschine to my DJ setup. I was thinking of the Traktor X1 and a 4 or 6-channel mixer. I saw some good options by Omntronic and Behringer. Again, this will be a budget-friendly setup. If I can generate a side income with Djing, then I'll invest into a better setup
Awesome! What is the second one mapped to? I’ve been thinking about a second one for better controls for cue points and more effect mappings. My 2024 goal includes swapping the remix deck/F1 for my push2 with Ableton.
@@djbonlando I have one either side of my mixer, left side controls decks A&C and right side to control decks B&D. All hot cues, loops etc. on bottom half buttons split layers, and effects controls on top half knobs and buttons on the top half single layer (K2 is laid out perfect for effects I have them matching software positions)
...also use Denon dnx 1700 as my mixer and sound card for Traktor (Some of the controls on that are mapped as well). DVS timecode vinyl in 1210s for decks A&B

This is amazing! I am happy with my setup, and happy to see other DJs using same setup -almost-. Xone43 and then full NI rig: 2 X1 mk2 + 1 F1 There are plans for 2 D2 on a "less portable" setup + a Maschine+ I am a maniac, I know. BTW Bonlando, can you share please the FX banks that you are using?
It's so cool hearing about everyones different setups with Traktor. Which is why I love that software so much, it really opens up so many possibilities for DJs to have their own unique style. I have a Push2 and i'd like to replace the F1 with it at one point so I wouldn't need the remix decks. i just bought a second K2 and am trying various effect mappings, but havn't perfected anything yet. Hey! I'm looking for that mixer actually, I found a used one for $900 USD and someone beat me to it so i'm on the hunt again. How do you like it? I've been using a friends 96 lately and honestly I can't go back to the pioneer. It's like a kids toy to me now. I mapped the K2 myself, what a learning curve that was. CABD ordering for the decks - for the bottom section the top 4 are play/stop, then I have an effect toggle for unit 2 for each channel, then cue, then load. Sliders are for effect dry/wet, above that are effect parameters (also pattern player stuff) and top knobs are loops, loops sizing and a modifier for beatjump if you hold shift. @@djbonlando Ive actually got a question you help me with... I cant figure out on how to beat match with the remix deck / F1. Its synched, yet its not the same speed and therefore off beat. Am i missing somehting?
@teamson2433 you probably don’t have quantization on for the remix deck. Lmk if that is it. Have a master tempo set with everything synced and that should fix it
So i'd not be the best to explain that, however if you have the right mixer with send/returns on individual channels, such as the allen and heath xone:96 or PX5 you can use Traktors external midi sync so that FL studio will quantize with Traktor. You can then send sounds from FL studio to the send/returns on your mixer. You'll have to search how to set it up in FL studio, but i'm sure you can make it work
Love your videos! I just got into traktor as I wanted more control over my sets. I have a DJM 900 nexus 2 K2s and an F1 and was wondering how you routed your sound to the the 900? Thanks in advance for your response!
Thanks!! The DJM 900 is easy, just plug it in via usb, as it’s Traktor ready. The DJM900 setup utility from pioneers website can sometimes help but it’s not crucial. I just recorded part 2 of this explaining how i use a second K2. So subscribe and i hopefully will have it this week!

How many pages can you upload of sounds on each deck. Wondering if you can have 4 mix decks playing sounds on each deck or maybe two remix decks . Each channel playing either synths or vocals or baselines or drum beats
4 pages of sounds on each remix deck. If you had 2 F1s you could totally jam with 2 remix decks. Hell if you had 4 F1s you could do a 4 deck remix jam if you wanted to!
Hi Ty Im really interested in this set up, can I ask how important is the mixer to this setup is it midi mapped to Traktor? I have a k2 and am looking at getting a f1. I also have a ddj flx4 and and Akai Midimix so I am wondering if I can make this work without the external mixer. Are you using built in fx in the mixer or only Traktor fx? do you ever miss the jogwheels? I love the idea of getting sample packs for the remix deck thanks
It’s pretty important. All the pioneers along with the Allen and Heath xone:96 and PX5 (an awesome mixer and the cheapest out of them) are all traktor ready. Otherwise you need to get an 8 in/out external sound card to setup. After that i don’t think you need to map it, just set up your in/outs in the settings. That is what Richie Hawtin does for his Model 1.
Hey! They are called remix decks and they come with Traktor pro, no need for plus unless you want the pattern player and the ozone limiter (which really helps with sound quality on big systems I’m finding)

The Traktor X1 mk3 looks amazing, but you'd need 2 of them if you want to do what I am doing in order to control all 4 channels. I assume you meant the xone:k2 yea? I think 2 X1s might be cooler but i'm on a budget and I've really got all I need in that one controller, and i've programmed it exactly how i want so i'm good. do you ever get a popping or crackling sound when you drop loops into the remix deck? Is there a trick to prevent this? I'm currently having problems where when the loop starts over again there’s a clicking sound
how are you recording your loops? i've not had that problem before. It sounds to me like it could be the file itself? Do you get a clicking sound if you grab a loop from the middle of a track?
@@djbonlando Yeah even from the middle it was doing it. But I figured out a work around to prevent it! It's a little more tedious but at least I found a way!
Hey man, i have decided not to give up my own custom TSI files simply because I’ve modified it so much to match my own way to do things it won’t make the most sense to anyone. Plus it’s in multiple different mappings mixed in with my second K2 i bought. If you go to traktormaps.com/ you can find a basic 4 channel map that gets you a “boiler plate” to start with and you can modify it to your liking.
