Yeah, playing with couplers is always fun. When I bought my BN SD40-2 the first thing I did was take out the crappy couplers it came with and put in Kadees, except because it's NScale they are WAY smaller! Lol. So I feel your pain Rick!

Hi Rick. Great video as always I hate to kick a dead horse but I can’t help but notice those tank cars have been sitting over there waiting to get taken to Titan Transfer to be switched out and that patched SP GP38-2 hasn’t worked in a long time
Thanks for the video. I've got an Athearn GP38-2 with a 21 pin decoder, and like you, I use Soundtraxx current keepers. They are ok on the PNP boards, but as you say, no room on this type. I'll get the TCS one!
What I need to figure out is how to add it to the already DCC&Sound equipped version. I just ordered 1 UP and am planning to order the other 2 numbers.

Yes, there are plenty of how-tos on the web and RU-vid. It is a hard-wire install that needs soldering. If you use a Digitrax DH126D, you can add one of their keep-alives as just a plug-in.
