@@jay-di3bs so the hair is self explanatory, its common in both male, female, etc. i guess my body type kinda plays into it, cuz im literally a stick. And ppl associate that with women, IDK why but ppl were like “i ThoUghT yOu WeRe a GiRl lOoKinG aT yOuR bOdy” but i have no tibbys so that just adds to the maybe both. THE only thing that really matters (besides the hair) is the clothes.. my style per say is not to masc, and not to femme, so i fall under the unisex side yanno. IF THAT MAKES SENSE SORRY IM BAD AT EXPLAINING
@@hellokairuu NO ITS OKAY YOU EXPLAINED REALLY WELL you are so nice, thank you for sharing, see for me i have more of a social dysphoria to where i don’t want people to look at me as a quote on quote “boy” or “girl” and idk if that’s selfish or not but i’m a lot more comfortable not fitting into those categories, and i want to accomplish that better so i feel better i hope i don’t sound strange or like i’m afraid of what people think of me but i’m getting there! i just cut my hair short ^^
@@jay-di3bs i hope your androjourney goes well 😏 im so funny ik. But for the confidence in like chcanging the way you look will come, before i felt kinda uncomfortable but now im a bad b!tch LMAOAKAB and for the bindsr maybe just look up ftm or trans masc ppls vids, im assigned male at borth so the only thing i know is tucking 🧍🏾
After I got this haircut, I went to give my friend a care package. One of her little brothers (around like 4 y/o) really likes me for some reason so he was talking to me and hanging out near my friend and I while we talked. Apparently after I left this kid turned to my friend and asked straight up: “was *that* a boy or a girl?” I mean is that gender euphoria? Or is it just funny
@@Lily-gz3ip I told her specifically I wanted curtain bangs and to keep my length in the back, as well as to keep it short around the sides and add a lot of layers :)
@@Leelooweewooo aw that’s awesome I plan cutting my hair shorter into a more androgynous look later this year or next year idk yet but that is amazing that your hair turned out great :)
@@greydoesstuff5736 Yay that's so exciting!!! It's definitely worth it. I was anxious about it at first but it turned out really well. It's also sort of fun to eliminate something so gendered from your image (regardless of your identity ofc)
Good thing my hair naturally has that prince curl, so i never have to use anything to style it I just need to push it back and let it fall into its place lol
I’m getting a haircut similar to this soon and I’m terrified of interacting with the people at the salon, but at least I know I can try this method after! Tysm
@@zeykaye5103 yeah, I ended up getting a longer haircut up to my shoulders, but it’s very layered. It’s a small step to my goal haircut, which is similar to the one in the video. My hair is already wavy, so when I wash it I just put a leave in conditioner and it styles itself LMAO but all I do is comb it back while wet so when it dries it ends up looking fluffy
@@LazyQueen it went really well! It’s the first “not a home” haircut I’ve gotten, so I was really nervous, but the woman who did it was really sweet and had done a really good job
Oh could you tell.me how you described it to the hairstylist or what photos you used and could you link them please cause I really wanna get a similar hairstyle to this but it's hard to find pictures of it or how to describe it
if you want tips: dont use a bath towel but a finer one and push your hair up while making a fist. Like crushing the hair in you hand. do that all around your head for about 2 minutes and then use the glasses
Yesss thank you for this, I’ve spent the last 7 years growing my hair out. Literally just trying to be “prettier” “girlier” but it’s sooo obnoxious and I’m thinking really hard about cutting it shoulder length but I’m scared of styling my hair haha
Hey! I seem to have a similar hair type and colour and style to you, and if you haven’t already you should check out (the names rly shit for dysphoria but oh well) ‘curly girl’ it basically just helps with keeping naturally curly or wavy hair healthy and there are tons of random ideas/methods similar to the glasses thing, eg. I use curl friendly heat protection spray after a shower bc for some reason it makes my hair keep curls overnight and stops frizz and then coconut oil in the morning because that takes off any remaining frizz, helps to part it and makes it rly shiny. Just thought it might be something you could be interested in:)
Two things: (1) your hair looks amazing and I'd like to get my own hair cut that way soon myself, still working up the courage lol and (2) I might be showing my age here but your hair looks just like Shawn Hunter's from Boy Meets World and I personally thinks that's freaking awesome!!!!
I've been considering getting this haircut for a while now, except my hair is really long right now so cutting so much of it in one go is a bit scary. Your video made me feel a bit more comfortable with it, since it doesn't seem like too much work to maintain. Thanks!
have had my hair cut like this for a few months completely unrelated to this video but i CAN confirm that it looks swag if your hair is curly too mine happens to be visibly curlier on the left so i part it to the side more to avoid looking wonky but center part looks good too very good haircut it makes me look very androgynous as well 10/10 major gender every day
okk but wavy hair suits this haircut really well. ofc it won't turn out straight but I've seen so many people with curly/wavy hair with this haircut who look so cool
What do you call this haircut exactly? Or what should I ask my hairdresser if I want to have this cut? edit: I got my haircut 3 months ago and it turned out AMAZING. Just show the hairdresser some pics and they will get it ^^
I also couldn't find the exact name but I showed mine a bunch of pictures and she nailed it pretty well. most of my friends have referred to it as a nonbinary or an eboy haircut
Finally someone teaching it!! Gosh thank u very much! I'm androgynous and i've always wanted to do something like your hair or mullet but i never knew someone who was teaching it thanks for recommending me youtube~ 💖💖💖💖💖plus you're so prettyyy~~~ you look like king princess~
I have thin hair and the same hairstyle. I shave both sides and the back every three months and it grows out to this. And just take the top for a hack in a mirror when I see a hot andro tiktok compilation at 3 am
ommmmmmmml you remind me so much of dimitri from anastasia if he had darker hair 😍 other than that you loooook just like him and like your energy is so *✨✨✨✨✨✨*
Ngl I wasn’t really expecting the whole stick-your-head-in-the-sink thing… but I DEFINITELY wasn’t expecting the sunglasses thing, I can tell you that! 😂🤚
im so glad i found this video and your page, like ive been trying to find a way to style my hair and a androgynous hairstyle, but I have no experience whatsoever about short hair and is scared af T_T
thanks yt recommendation i have been wanting to get a androgynous hair style for so damn long and this is exactly what i wanted to look like but i have thick hair too and i didnt know how i would style it or maintain it and i am so happy i found this video ??!!!!!!
I was watching this because I needed ways to style my hair but this is seriously the way I do it every morning like I get my hair wet (by sticking my head in the sink) and then I dry it a little and put it up with something like a headband or sunglasses so don't worry its not weird I do it to lmao
oh-my god. you give me so much gender envy and i just wanna look like you. I wish i could cut my hair just how it is in this video. It looks amazing. Thank you for- well- showing me my dream haircut. I hope one day to be the glorious enby that i know i could be.
what’s the haircut called? i have a haircut appointment tomorrow and im afraid to come out as ftm trans.. but im allowed this haircut for my birthday. i want to know what this haircut is ive been looking for it forever! i like the split look
it’s a short shag/eboy cut with layers and curtain bangs and a little longer in the back! i usually just show a pic of myself or the reference pic i included in the video. usually they know what to do. good luck!
i have long curly hair. i wash as little as poss like many curlies. But after i have washed, used products and got my curls looking the way i want, i sleep in a satin 'bonnet' l just call it my bed cap, cos 'bonnet' sounds a bit 18th century lol....its designed specifically for protecting hair during sleep. a silk/ satin scarf will work, but the hat stays in place. It eliminates friction from the pillow, and my hair doesnt look as if its been dragged through a bush. It hardly looks slept on. Even sleeping on a satin pillow helps, they're a few $$s on amazon and ebay. And never use a towel to rub hair dry, use a tee shirt instead. These are tips usually for curlies, but work for all hair types
I had a similar cut as you when I was younger (though didn't style it because I was like 5), yet I looked like a trashed weasel instead of androgynous royalty, so now I'm scared to let my hair grow out enough to do something with it-
I literally used your picture off pinterest to show my hair stylist what i wanted and then came to youtube to figure out how to style it myself so this worked out great completely by accident🤣edit:also, i too have incredibly thick hair that turns into a bowl cut when dry and the sunglasses thing will probably change my life forever thank you😭🙏
I absolutely love this haircut and would love to have it (been thinking of shorter androgynous haircuts for a long time), but I have pretty fine hair. Does anyone know whether that sort of cut would work with such hair? Genuinely curious, so thanks to anyone who replies
I have a similar haircut and fine, straight hair and it actually works pretty well for me. Doesn't look like it does on Iris (probably more because they have curls), but still good, at least if you can find a good hairdresser.
