This was a fun project! I got some longer videos coming, so make sure to sumbscrimbo and uproot this vidya And check out my website for classes and other stuff: Nateweiss.org Thanks for being here I appreciate ya
Nice, very nice. You forged them, which is a hefty project; filed them into shape , then inlaid the silver! Time + Dedication = BEAUTY I really like them.
Great! I also come from the metalworking industry, I'm a CNC machine technician. I still remember that my teacher always said: "Toolmakers are the kings of metal! They master ALL types of metalworking! Turning, milling, planing, grinding, soldering, welding, forging, riveting, eroding, sheet metal bending, peening, casting... ..
Exceptional workmanship there! Not 100% perfect as if it’s been cnc cut gives it a unique hand crafted look and shows they were made with pure skill. Great to see people still appreciate hard work put into developing craftsmanship
One hell of a attempt for a first time. I swear it's people like you that are going to make me go broke the fastest. Some people like paying for overpriced coffee, and some people like paying for high quality craftsmanship that's going to be there when my great grandchild turns 90. You're building something that has legacy and honorific integrity to it. Whatever the opposite of rolling over in your grave is everybody that came before you is going to do that. Should be extremely proud of yourself and there is no amount of words within reason that I could put here to say just how impressed I am with this. You are a very valuable person. Godspeed.
@dacor1106 A compass is a tool used to draw precise circles. It has a pencil on one end and a pin/leg on the other, you put the pin on the paper and spin it, the pencil will then trace a perfect circle on the paper. It is used in everything from mathematics to cartography.
This looks amazing! And done by hand also? WOW! Great work my freind! Most people have no clue as far as the literal SKILL it takes to create something such as this BY HAND!
Dear Lord that all looks machined from the final product shot, but when you zoom in real close you can tell it was hand made, I'd consider that uhhhh certified badass
Conceptually 100 points; I’d bet you’re skilled enough to create a rail rig for a handheld etcher allowing you to preserve most of the current process. Really dig the inlay technique too👍
Great job for your first time. It turned out super. Keep practicing and have fun doing it. Play good loud music and take your time. So far your look like a natural. I love listening to hard rock while carving. I get into a zone. Make sure to turn off the phone and let the family know your going to be busy for a few hours. It sucks getting interrupted while your in the zone. Find your zone that keeps the world out while working. One disturbing can cause an mistake and then you'll have to re-think the pattern. So it's just easier to just be left alone while working. Keep it up and in know time you'll be doing guns and knives. Don't be afraid to try new things to. Leaf patterns are tricky but look nice when done..
I feel silly for saying it but I hadn’t thought about branching into interlay work on my own hobby projects until seeing this. I think it’s great work and I feel inspired to try it
I expected it to be done a little bit more accurately... Perhaps you should have used some rotary tool to straighten the lines. Anyway, you've got my like! 😊
Excelente! Very clean and smooth really digging this as a person inclined to mechanical mechanisms and such. The smoothness and how well the fit together when closed 🔥🔥🔥
my personal opinion it looked better without an inlay. the sharp angles and clean shapes of the piece was looking really nice. The inlay took some of the away as it was soft looking especially in the corners. Perhaps if it was a thinner line it would mesh better.
I mean, you’re skilled, but that pitch table thingamajig is frigging amazing. I can think of so many damn things I’ve done in my life where just something holding it like that would have made my life 100% easier!
