Love this video! Great information. I’m in the Aviation Industry so I get free flights but my friends and family don’t. And the best part about Southwest Airlines is that they fly everywhere in the U.S even smaller airports. I will definitely be signing up. Please do a video on Hotel Credit Cards too. There are so many options
Thanks so much for watching! We are so glad that you got value out of our content. Definitely agree that this is an amazing deal! Can’t beat the buy one get one with the Companion Pass ✈️
Yass I LOVE my CP! I just re-qualified for 2024. My lucky husband hasn't paid for a flight in like, 8+ years. Haha I tallied it up and we've saved at least $4000 in the last year alone with this
Great content. I have a suggestion for the Fare drop service. It would great to make it more specific. Instead of I want to go any where in the US, I want to go to these specific locations. What's the best way to get there. The best points deals for specific destinations would be good too. Basically, let us hire Nate to plan our trip. :-)
I don't understand what you meant by making sure you earn the qualifying points within the same calendar year. Does that mean if I strategically get the card this year in December of 2024 so I can earn the points by January 2025 so I can have all of 2025 and 2026 to use my companion pass, I won't be able to, since I didn't earn the points in the same calendar year that I got the card?
Would I get the companion pass if I earned the 75,000 sign up and then referred 3 friends to the card at 20,000 points for each referral? Is that too good to be true?
If you are approved for a Chase business card, then it should not add to your 5/24. Though, in order to be approved for most Chase business cards, you must be below 5/24.
You want to get the business card first in late October. This doesn’t count towards 5/24 cuz it’s not a personal card. Then make sure you do not finish the minimum spend until January (tip: don’t go past 75% of minimum spend before the end of the year). Then get the personal card in early December which counts towards the 5/24. Make sure not to finish the minimum spend until the new year.
Can I apply for this card and receive the 75,000 bonus points if I just signed up for a Chase Sapphire reserve card and earned the sign on bonus last month? The fine print says it’s available to me if I don’t have a current Southwest card and have not received a new card number bonus been last 24 months. Does the Chase sapphire reserve count in that new card number bonus?
I just got mine in the mail. I have to spend 3k by feb 5th to get the 75k point. If I spend the 3k now before the new year those points won’t count for the Companion pass. So I’ll be waiting until January to use my card a lot.
I referred a friend of mine to get the SW Credit Card, and collected 25,000 points when they signed up and used their card... it counted towards my CP for 2024 👍
I applied and got approved for the Southwest card while watching this video. I'm a little confused about earning the Companion Pass. From what I understood from the video, it sounds like I should start earning CP points now, but finish the requirement after January 1. However, the Southwest app says qualifying points get reset on January 1. If that's the case, I should have waited until January to get the card. Please help! I mean, I have to work towards the sign up bonus regardless, but I would like to understand better.
Not to worry, your big sign on bonus won’t hit until you’ve met your minimum spend. Best advice is to leave about a $500 margin at the end of December to make sure that Chase doesn’t give you the bonus early. What points you earn on your daily spend this year will reset, but it’s the 50 (now 75k) welcome bonus that you really need to qualify for the CP. As long as you leave those minimum spends (on both your personal and business cards) below that amount until Jan 1, you’re good to go!
Can you please do travel hacking for Europeans. There is zero info. I know you guys must have come across something over the years, enough for one video at least.
