Join me as I run through my Lightroom and Photoshop post process editing workflow for the image I took at the Upper Seletar Reservoir in Singapore. I share about some Photoshop plugins such as Jimmy McIntyre's InstaMask and how to use DxO Nik Color Efex Pro to achieve the results that I'm looking for. I also share about creating an Orton Blur as well as dodging and burning techniques to create the dramatic contrast seen in the photograph. Since the actual edit took me hours, this is just a quick run through.

Thank you for sharing! Really impressive. Been watching your videos this circuit breaker and I have learnt quite a fair bit. Pretty inspired to go out and shoot in Phase 2/3 haha. Do you have any recommendations of lesser known spots in SG to catch the sunset/sunrise?

Pinning this comment because it's a great question. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm itching to go out and shoot too so that I can upload more videos from the field. As for finding lesser known spots, I recommend that you keep an app that shows the direction of sunrise/sunset handy. Whenever you come across a location that looks promising, check the direction of sun, not just for the current date but for the entire year as well. Even though we're in SG, the direction of the sun does change significantly throughout the year, and there may be certain dates when the sun's position can make a unique shot for you that no one else has. www.photoephemeris.com or www.photopills.com are useful tools for this. #photoephemeris #photopills

Didn't know Singapore has such a nice iconic tree. Your edited version is really nice. This is your best vid so far, the step by step instruction is really cool. I like how you use tone curve to look for sensor dust spots. 👍🏻

Glad you enjoyed it! There's a few methods to spot those pesky dust spots, but I like playing with tone curve because I find it's the quickest and easiest.

Hi can you include how to export your image Thankyou 😊
@ZacharyLaiPhotography
@ZacharyLaiPhotography 4 года назад
Sure thing! I'll include it in a future video, but it's fairly straightforward. For social media use, export as sRGB, 2048px on the long side to minimise compression by Facebook or whatever social media you are uploading to. For print, I usually export in full resolution. I also use this fantastic software to keep my JPEG sizes down without compromising quality. www.jpegmini.com

@@ZacharyLaiPhotography how many resolution if for social media? 80?
@ZacharyLaiPhotography
@ZacharyLaiPhotography 4 года назад
@@Jesscloma As long as it's 2048px, it's good enough. The resolution box actually doesn't make a difference when you're resizing by pixels. It's more for printing.
