We have a buyer for his dad's house. They want to settle on June 30th. We need to spend part of that money on a land investment. My husband wants to retire soon. He will be building a house on that property using the sale money. Then we will sell this house so we can rinse and repeat. Life won't slow down for us, but our bank account will ultimately grow. We pretty much ignore the news because their goal is to stress people out.
You are smart AND funny! And cute as a button. I can say that because I'm old enough to be your granniemaw! Keep the humor coming...it's the fastest way to learn. 🙂
I work in hospitality, and every day it's all go, go go. My boss seems to have a chilli up his bum , and is behind me all day. On one of my days off, I do not a lot. My friends are like " what are you doing today? ". I say" bugger all". I rush around all day at work ( approximately 20,000 steps per shift). Life is about balance. Most people need MORE activity. I need LESS
Charging stuff I don't need on my credit card when I'm feeling bored or down sabotages my financial goals. Love your southern cousin, Billy Bob Austin. ❤
The 40 hour work week is living way too simple of a life. Basically ground hog day 5 days a week. And then even weekends can have a similar pattern. 🤕 😴🛌 🚗 🙇♂️ 🥘🍔 🕦📺🖥📱🌅😴🌃
One of the best ways to get yourself outside of your head is to read a book, especially a book written in first person. First, reading slows you down. You then get inside somebody else's head. Not only will it clear the crap inside your head, but it can sometimes correct your thinking in the process b/c you've allowed yourself entering another person's (writer's) world and perspective.
May I suggest batch cooking on a day that is best for you? You could make a few things that you could in your fridge to grab when you're ready to eat. You could even freeze some of it, to eat on the weeks you may not be able to cook due to travel, illness, etc. Food typically stays for about five days in the fridge and about three months in the freezer. Maybe this could help with your cooking issue if you are only having to prepare things once or twice a week rather than everyday? 👨🍳 A little bit of SpongeBob could never be a waste of time, lol. If you enjoy something, then it must offer some goodness for your soul. My Nana used to tell me, "Everything in moderation, Honey." So, GO!, enjoy yourself some Sponge Bob. ☺
For me, lessons #3 and #4. Learning to accept things beyond your control is very freeing. This includes what other people think, say, and act on, as well as weather etc. also learning to observe, but not absorb. Your mind can heal, but it also can lead you down a negative path. I really believe the Universe sometimes puts you in the same situations over and over again to see if you’re still a “ dumbass”😂. Blessings..💕
Oh my god thank you. I keep relearning over and over that I need to eat clean. I eat clean, feel great, coast, eat crap, then have to start all over again. 😂
I totally relate on the cooking thing. I have found cooking a huge batch of rice twice a week and working through it to be a pretty reliable workaround. I mix up what I put with it; sometimes egg, sometimes tuna, sometime chicken, sometimes cheese AND cottage cheese. Some people have a problem with the same thing everyday, but for me I eat to not be hungry. So I just eat one thing, then I can get on with my life!
I think this one was your best yet. Really… I’ve heard of these truths before but it was searching this time … and it landed. I’ll probably repeat them again but hey …. Thanks 👍🏻
The title is certainly very surprising Agustin! Your content is however very original and interesting and this one is also very enjoyable. Hoping to see many more videos from you!
If you never watch my channel again, just remember you heard somewhere that kia makes shit cars. And you spend a couple thousand more for a honda or toyota!
Never leaving my own head = rumination. This happens often to people who are great thinkers. Acknowledge it and then go do something instead of think about something. Obsessing over things you can’t control, when this happens to me, I think on this: accept the things I can’t change, change the things I can and have wisdom to know the difference. Then I decide what to do. Rewriting important lessons from my current journal into a main journal that is only for the best life advice really helps me. I can re read my main journal when I need help and when my current journal is done, it gets put in the recycle bin. This helps with rumination too
Protip: if you batch cook a bunch of meals for the week all at the same time, youll spend about 2-3 hours once a week and only need to wash 3 pans instead of 21 pans in a week. Batch cooking is lazy life
04:53 I got into keto diet and intermittent fasting - and cut that number to TWO. Well, really 1 and a half (quick breakfast). It's not that hard to skip lunch, and it frees up a lot of time, at least 30 mn a day.
Cook easier meals. Eat leftovers They last 3 days in the fridge. Make nutritious salads with a variety of vegetables cheese fruit breadcrumbs deli meat or cut up a piece of meat that you may all ready have. You can make a chicken. You can cut these pieces into pieces and freeze them and use them in your salads or other foods. You can make a pancake mix and put it in the fridge. It lasts 2 days in the fridge you can have a delicious breakfast. Oatmeal is also a healthy fast breakfast where you add fruit into it. Make sure your serving sizes are correct for your age. If you are a vegetarian then find out the protein equivalents for your age. ❤
Hola 👋 Thanks for sharing your human experiences along life's journey. You do have viewers/travelistas that can easily relate, and I for one understands how laborious it is to make meaningful video contents. Kudos to you!
Get an opinion of a second mechanic technician as the fixing is so much money or save that money and sell the car into parts or to a junker if you can. Consider buying another car. Fixing any car it doesn't matter the brand can be expensive sometimes 😢. By the way, I love your videos.
About the cooking; if I could cook laying comfortable in my couch..just lack the energy to stand. Because work had been physically exausting for a good while, so yes, it's time to slow down, so goodby hard job. I have the f... you money to leave, you ain't gonna swallow me hole, and I ain't gonna miss ya. Slower life is a better more he 0:23 althy life❤
Always nice to listen to you and looking forward to the next. Voice of reason, we always need to ground ourselves in the basic stuff.... But I suppose that basic stuff that we know would bring us to a better place of understanding is not the same for everybody....we all come from a different place :-)
Holy crap - we just lost our Kia minivan the same way. “ sorry , mam, you need a new engine, 12k used engine, installed.” RIP Kia Sedona. And the oil was changed, just not enough. Apparently, stories abound, and something about Kia’s can’t handle even a slight miss on oil. timing. Since this happened, I’ve heard story after story after story.
They actually tell us to eat 6 to 7 small meals per day now. Which sounds and is absolutely dreadful!! Not to mention terrible for your health. With Intermittent fasting, I eat one to two times per day .. not only do I save a lot of time but I am saving my health as well.
Wow .. I love all your videos but this one was on point . You really made me feel better about some things I was struggling with lately. Very grateful for your content ! Blessed be!
Just no idea how someone hates, and trolls this guy, this is completely new to me! His content is wise and with lots of good intention! I just really do not have the general feeling of He just wants to be a millonare with the help of youtube, like the 99% of content creators today. Ladies and gentleman Austin is the 1% , our hero going against the tide. Let's give him respect!
haha, thanks! It's probably 1% hate, but it's more me. It can be hard even to read positive comments because you can't live off of other people's approval. It's something I don't think I will ever get used to, but thankful for the supportive audience!
Where's the love button? I really love this one! It really hits the heart of today's reality. Thank you for all you do to bring us these lessons Austin. We love and appreciate you!
Augustine Augustine Augustine how you doing I'm 60 years old I enjoy your videos my life is absolutely fantastic I don't have much to say to you but I will let you know that the four gospels that are in the Bible are extremely important when it comes to my happiness so you may want to consider them the four gospels in the Bible take care have a great weekend God bless😂thanks for the videos
Your inspiring videos are such a great addition to my day. Your energy brings me joy every time I watch you. I hope you have a wonderful day! God bless you ❤
I'm sure you were being facetious when you were talking about cooking and eating because being able to eat 3 times a day means you are living a very privileged life. Being able to afford food, having access to food and access to cooking facilities is something billions of people don't have. Having spent time in South America I'm sure you're more than aware of that. And you don't HAVE to eat 3 times a day, two months ago I started eating only twice a day and I feel so much better for it. Great video, you hit the nail on the head with our complete lack of control over anything in life except our response and the fact that as long as we're above ground we keep learning.
I'm impressed with how scripted your videos are. I talk off the top of my head in mine, but often forget important points. How then do you read the script? Do you memorize it? You don't look like you are reading. Thank you for sharing your creative process. You do an amazing job!
I'm not reading, but I think scripts are important because there is structure. There is no way I could talk off the top of my head. After doing 118 videos, I feel like I've gotten pretty good with talking to a camera where I can memorize at least a minute of the script and say it pretty naturally. I also spend a decent amount of time writing so I remember what I wrote. But it also has to do a lot with the way I edit it, you cannot see when the scene cuts because I never cut mid sentence but usually have a clip or words that hide all the cuts. I have no clue of what you see because I see it as hundreds of pieces!
Something that simplify my life about cooking is to cook 2 portions instead of one, that way I don’t have to think about lunch the next day. Intermittent fasting has also made it simpler. Easier to plan. ☺️
You are the most realistic and helpful RU-vidr that I am subscribed to. I appreciate all of your hard work,my friend. I really needed to see this video because I am guilty of all of these things. Im striving to become better and you are a great motivator. Keep going Austin, like Ive said before, you are a hidden gem! P.S. I love the southern accents! 😂😂😂❤
I think the point of this video is that you Austin are indulging more than you wanted to, but don’t give any examples. Are you spending money on frivolous things..? Too much on food? Take out..?
Austin, I just want you to cut down on how many times you use generalizations... stop saying the words "always" and "never". Yeah, life can be hard for people still in the rat race, working hard 5 days a week. But it gets better. Eventually you retire (like me). One goal should be to prepare for retirement: pay off all debts, live in a mortgage-free home, save money to pay for emergencies such as a new car engine, etc. Look at the bigger picture. Life doesn't have to suck. Find cheap ways to enjoy life. You can do it, Austin! Cheer up.
