This video is one take and contains mistakes by design. In order to get better at anything you need to practice and waiting for something to be perfect can prevent that practice. This video is my practice.

Are you me?? Seriously, I related so much to what you shared in this video. I have struggled with perfectionism all my life and only recently became aware how much it is holding me back in small and large ways. Acknowledging is the first step to addressing it! I find comfort in knowing how many other people feel the same way. Thank you for being both brave and vulnerable to share this

This was REALLY good. I needed to hear this. I suffer from perfectionism, and it's crazy you posted this because I currently have three videos ready to film but I keep waiting for "the perfect conditions"... my better microphone coming in the mail, better lighting, etc. Your video was a 'light bulb moment' for me, thank you.

Hi, I come from /r you just have to keep going, to make videos is as all with practice come perfection, just have to post, I also have 1000 mistakes but I'm not afraid to post, you have a good voice and good background just have to practice more. But really good video

I recognize this. However, you can still aim to get your work close to perfect and move on. I feel that it is not only about acceptance, but also about being satisfied with your own work. To elaborate on this, you learn and with this, your idea of perfection changes. Think about your framing. If you thought about applying a rule of thirds or a little less head space, you probably would have seen that as perfect. So your level of perfect might not be perfect for someone else. However, someone else might notice the effort you're putting in. This is for example why MKBHD films in 8K. Because the 2 percent of his audience notices it. Also his thumbnails all have Easter eggs. So I think it's all about balance. Not getting too much into the details, but still feeling like you did a good job. Learn on the way, and share your progress with others. Great video.

I agree with this too, I think that making each video a little better than the last is the best way to improve your skills. Achieving perfection should be the long term goal but not something that prevents progress. However, I would say that MKBHD is a great example that would support the ideas I talked about in the video. I have used his channel as an example of this in the past. In the beginning, he didn't let his bad webcam video quality prevent him from creating and posting videos. If you go to his channel and sort his videos from oldest to newest the amount of steady progress he has made is amazing and he is a perfect example of someone in the quantity group rather than the quality group. It took him 11 years of steady uploading to reach the high-quality 8k videos you see today.

@@JohnnyCodes I agree, if you can't afford something, it shouldn't stop you to create.
