I was feeling very clear headed today, so I thought it would be good time to give some insight into how I stopped drinking.
This video will tell you about what I did to stop myself from giving in to the urges to drink and how I rewired my brain to see every day as an achievement.
Hopefully, this helps some of you who are trying to stop drinking because it definitely worked for me.
These processes will definitely not work for everyone, but hopefully it helps with changing the way you look at your sober journey and help you to be kinder to yourself.
Every day is an achievement, remember that.

Awesome that I came across your video. I'm 34 data sober today after many relapses. I agree we have to replace ou ur old habits with new ones and mine is Reading I never thought I would love read the way I do today. I'm reading "Sober on a drunk planet" by Sean Alexander I really recommend and also the one which I already finished "Crushing addiction Spiritual warfare" by John Barleykorn. These books save me from misery. I also do journaling which is effective and beneficial. Remember. -Sobriety delivers everything alcohol promised. - Just remember nothing Terrible will happen to you if you never drink another drink. But TERRIBLE things will happen if you do.

Career heavy drinker. I’ve stopped for almost 5 years. I hate than I went back to it. As this man mentioned, sobriety isn’t the end of all your problems and good days and bad days , but I will tell you that I had to learn to manage that sober. Drinking took me back to , skipping workouts, as diet, bad choices and constantly feeling tired!

Great video. Our stories are very similar. I'm coming off of a relapse but man, I tell ya, I'm so happy in my decision to sober up again. I also smoke cigarettes andni completely agree that quitting alcohol over smoking is the way to go. I explain my journey on my channel. Its hard but itsnworth it. Just havebto surrender. On a side note, the Witcher 3 is my favorite game ever. Recently I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077. It's a fantastic game in its own right. Anyways. Thanks again for the video. It really does help.

For me it's that dopamine hit I used to love. I miss that but hope in time it will get better

I don't know how heavily you drink, but what will likely happen in time is that the dopamine hit will disappear. It'll disappear and you'll either not notice or drink harder trying to find it again. All you'll be left with is a killer habit. Everyone's case is slightly different of course but this is a pretty common outcome. I genuinely wish you all the best mate. EDIT: My apologies, I re-read what you wrote and I missed the message that it's in the past for you. Congrats.

Do you workout, exercise ? Try morning gym workouts , cardio and weights, once yiu retrain your brain to enjoy The dopamine hit is incredible! !And you won't want to ruin the all day high with a depressant like slchchol..It woks for me and I loved drinking socially at weekends...But didn't like the hangovers, depression , anxiety that followed..

@@baldersn4474 I used to love running until I got injured and can't do that anymore. Running was my high and I loved it. Appreciate your encouragement. I get so low I can't workout with the intensity like I used to!

Avoid people, places and things where alcohol is there. It helps. It works.

The problem is Alcohol is everywhere nowadays, they promote it Soo much! Especially here in the UK but I do agree with trying your best to stay away from all the triggers and also remember thought's can be a trigger too, you might get constant images of you drinking or drinking with friends ect just ride the wave 🌊 and wait for the next imagine or trigger and then ride the 🌊 until you get stronger and stronger. Stay strong everyone.

@@1991maz eating a candy helps too. Alcohol raises sugar levels as does candy. Also avoid bars, friends who often drink. It’s actually not everywhere. It’s just that we are accustomed to going where it is…weddings, parties, etc. it’s worth it at first to avoid these places/triggers. That’s why blind ppl don’t go to movies!
