It’s so nice to get those lights working again! 🥰 I recently found out that vinegar dissolves corrosion! I’ve used it on a few of my sets. It’s a lot less messy than WD40 and the smell dissipates a lot quicker.
This is great. I have repaired some of my Polly's but none with lights like this. I think the most difficult one that I had to repair was a FunTime clock. I had to completely take it apart! Originally, I thought I would have to replace the entire interior clock mechanism. So I popped out the clear plastic face plate and even took all of the hands off of the clock and managed to get the entire mechanism out of the toy. Once I did that, I noticed that I didn't actually need a new one. I just had to realign some of the gears that had popped out of place and then put the whole thing back together.
omg my polly is back! Lights up again in just 5 minutes! Among many RU-vidrs, your method touched my heart the most, and I tried it right away because I had ingredients. How to remove discoloration with UV lamps is really effective! It took 6 hours, but it's almost perfect! 👑 you are so angel 👼💖 thank you so much! ✨🦄
Ms. holy thank you so much for this vid. I almost lost hope for my polly to light up but after doing the same procedure that you did. I was able to make my polly work! 😊❤️
Hi Holly. I have used the WD-40 with great success. I have also used white vinegar on the contacts with a cotton swab on a set that had very little corrosion and that worked as well. Excellent video. Thank you.
I bought a used hat box set and unfortunately the batteries leaked. The contacts themselves are absolutely fine but I can still see a bit of corrosion on the part that went inside the set. Tried everything I can, but the light is not working at all. Tried to take the set apart but didn't know how. Someone has any tips?
