This is the conclusion I came to as well. I am getting rid of my inventory and dropping eBay! They disgust me! Atop of the regular listing fees, store cost, final value, PayPal fees...Now we have to pay more money to promote our listings, greed! Now that everyone has put two and two together, even lowering my prices and PAYING to promote my products, things are not the same. I have promoted at a high percentage rate and even still, a sale or two trickles in every couple of days. I am over eBay, their incompetent outsourced reps, their disregard and disrespect to their sellers...

Promoted listings......hmmmm.......its like this.....ebay says "pay us more money and we will put you on the first page". 10% already goes to ebay and 6% to pay pal...... Its like having a bad credit card feeling.

I'm not a dropshipper so my experience my be different. I did 1% promo and ended a few dead listings. I also removed the UPCs I was forced to add a year ago from ebay and any other unique numbers that could possibly create a link [11 new & refurbished from $xx.xx] in the search results and within 24 hours I did $614 in sales. More than my previous 3 days combined. I need to do $300/day just to break even. Thanks for the help!

It will work for everybody else but me. I have highly valuable collectible items and I have factored alot into my prices factoring several aspects. I am in a barrel i moved recently and i am needing to sell this to help me afford my Bill's and such so I figured it would be a pretty good idea. People seem to be so cheap they seem to want everything for nothing well I cant afford to give away these collectible pieces because when they're gone they're gone. I am not doing this for a business I am trying to survive and I need this to work

What a cute Ebay nerd!!! (That's an honest compliment). I'm not sure if this was stressed in the video (don't have time to review again) but promoted listings really are more for items that are multiples...that have shown selling success and you want to boost them among the competition. A listing with just one item to sell probably isn't going to benefit that much from you paying to boost it. If an item that is a quantity of one isn't selling I think revisiting the listing itself..redoing the title...changing the price...etc. is more effective. I was excited about Ebay about a year ago, but the more I dig and learn the more headaches I get learning all this jargon. I've had to pull back and just concentrate on listing. Being a competitive lister is already exhausting enough! LOL. Unless you are selling goo-gobs of little items and are one of those people clogging Ebay with a bunch of tchotchkes a lot of this info is "good to know" but not pressing to use.. And--most of us are NOT going to be making thousands of dollars a day! Also..this whole process is way easier than it seems on this video. Now when you create a listing the option to promote it is right there at the bottom of the page, with a suggested rate.

Promoted Listings are a NEW EBAY PRODUCT to rip off sellers . If every seller pays to promote their listings how ebay will be displaying everybody on the first page ?

I was listing to a replay of ebay radio from last week and a topic was brought up, sourcing from other market places like amazon and walmart. Griff's thought on it was "who cares" if people are sourcing that way and admitted that he has actuly bought from sellers who do off ebay him self. He also admitted that rely there's no way for ebay to stop it and has no plans on stopping it in the near future.

Hi, Paul, so if we end the stale listings...then what do you do with them? I mean, there is a lot of work into researching, photos etc. Do you end, the sell similar or donate to goodwill. Also, I am in the camp that it is extremely unfair for ebay to offer promoted listings. First, it won't make sense if all sellers did this. 2. not everyone will . 3. We all pay for listings, we should all get the same fair opportunity to sell our items. Basically, promoted listings are like a bribe! IMO

Excellent value in this video! Paul mentioned running sponsored listings. Just bulk edit your prices up by 1% then you've got margin for the 1% sponsored listings campaign.

only if promoted listings where aviable right at the start it would be a great boost to every beginner, but nope, you need to have an above stardard to have the promoted listings aviable in your ebay account, so basiclly its a waiting game, once you get enough sales you can get way more sales with promoted listings. so, product research is very important as a beginner to generate some sales.

Wanted to update you on my experience with your method to fix the slow sales. I believe it worked. I raised my prices a bit and did promoted listing and my sales seem normal or better than normal again. They really should be better than they were because I have more listings than I had a month ago. Thank you for working like a maniac finding a solution Paul. I did prune some but I’m fairly new so I really didn’t have too many listings over two months without sales. Still, I did prune some as well

Just went through and cleared out all of my old and unsold items. Havent made too many sales since but i am selling slowly but surely.

Paul, your videos are fantastic... thank you. You know, I have spoken with eBay many many times about this, no results. Just alot of suggestions. They even had a specialist contact me one evening, over an hour going over point by point. I'm wondering how valuable the 'Item Specifics' are, as for our products, it's so complex. We run over 12,000 items on 5 eBay sites. Also, curious about the 'Good 'Til canceled' thing. We've been told, 30 days, let it drop into unsold, then 'sell similar' Do not 'relist' In the title, flip some of the wording, the eBay system will think it's a new listing! What you think? Also, the 'allow buyers to make an offer', good thing? I've been working it for a week, setting automatic acceptance or decline based on the offer. We tried the Promoted listing thing, zero results. That is a pure scam.

I dont' think sponsered listings matter that much if you're searching for something and there is a ton of them. I tend to search this way. 1. item I'm looking for then. 2. Lowest price.

This is actually a wonderful video. I really believe that it offers 3 great well thought out tips. Most videos about successful selling on ebay don't teach much, at least not much with real value. This one is great. I want to take this course. I hope that I can afford it.

I agree with the 1% promo. Some things I do not have to promote as buyers know about when they are being listed and poof they go. I do have some stale listings that I am going to re-list as selling similar, delete the old listing, if it fails to move after that, off to auction before just scrapping!

I agree with the 1% thing BUT there are some items I don't have to promote. Repeat buyers know when they are getting listed and poof they are gone. I have some old stuff that needs to re-listed or sell similar then delete the old listing. If I run up on something that's not moving and I have tried everything else, we then go to auction, get what we can for it before tossing away.

I am having the same problem, sales for no reason I can determine took a dive the last several days, I am now going to try some of this but also start listing on Amazon as this deep sales dive shows me the danger of relying on ebay too heavily, then having the sales chair kicked out from under me at random.

After many searches i have realized that Ebay is putting sellers with 100% feedback at the top. Some have under 50 sales and barely any are top rated plus. Do a search for anything and you will see. They are making us jump through hoops to be top rated yet putting inexperienced sellers at the top just because they have 100%

I was already promoting my sales not 1% or 2% but 10.5% and my sales are still on the floor for months!! I was so demotivated that I stop listing! For almos 2 months I didn't do anything. I believe stoping listing is the WORSE, look like the algorithm reacts to this right away!! :(

Hi my name is James and I’m thinking about pushes pushes in your course and I was wondering whether or not you explain auto DSAnd the inside set up

Any suggestions on how much to pay over the trend rate to get on the first page? Is there a way to find out what my competitors are paying to get on the front page? There are a few that always seem to be on the front page. I was a new seller, and sold a ton of product in the first week and a half to the point I ran out of inventory. I left my listing as out of inventory. The volume was so crazy about bought $10k worth of inventory thinking I could move it all within 4-6 weeks, rookie mistake. I received the inventory 2 weeks later and now I have nothing compared to what I had before in impression and views. My impression and views are down 90%. I couldn't seem to get it back up. I called eBay to refresh my account which they did and it didn't help. Then I deleted the listing, recreated multiple listings instead of the one I had for this product, and I still don't have the numbers I was seeing before. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Promoted listings are only for Fixed Price items. I get a promoted listing credit but it doesn't do me any good because I sell 99.9% of my items in the auction format.

hi, thanks for all the advice. Got Zik Analytics, starting finding products which are selling well, then I go to the web and try to find the source. I keep encountering situations where competing eBay seller's price is actually lower than the retail company's price. Seen it dozens of times after researching for a few days. I can ignore that fact and list with a 20% markup, but seems like an unwise decision as my product will appear right beneath or above the competitor's and I'd lose the sale based on price. Would you recommend listing it and moving on or don't list it and find something else? If an eBay seller's price are below Walmart's prices, for example, is it safe to assume they are purchasing from wholesalers and are actually more like resellers versus dropshippers?

Paul, since you re-promoted this video, have you gone back to using eBay promoted listings? I remember you having some issues with using them in the past.

All drop shippers should keep a uniform profit of at least $15 per product item. Everybody is pinching pennies and hurting each other in the process of doing so. Raise profits to a minimum price and the customer will have to pay while the seller prospers simultaneously.

Hi great tips but wondering why your sales in both stores were going down in the first place before you started the tips? Did ebay change something to cause it?

Personally as a buyer I avoid sponsored sales because I think they imply the item isn't competitively priced and wont sell on its own merits.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing on an eBay search results screen. There isn't, nor has there ever been, a little box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen that tells you how many occurrences a particular item is listed. During a 90-day period from Sep.1-Nov 29, I had a 30.8% rate of sales with Promoted Listings to total sales, far less than what you get. I had a 1.0% click to impressions ratio and a 1.7% sales to click ratio. I don't know if that's normal or something is wrong with my listings or I just don't have stuff people want. In any event, that didn't amount to a lot of sales; but even so, that's that many more sales than I would have had I not done Promoted Listings. Finally, if I deleted everything that hadn't sold in 60 days, I might as well close my store and quit selling on eBay, as I rarely have fast sellers.

Since more than a week All my listings show only dashes instead of numbers of visits. After 15-20 times refresh, all appear "0" (zero). No any sale, no any visibility, just paying my eBay taxes for nothing. I shared my listings on Pinterest and I can't believe that still no any listing gets at least 1 visit. But it's true! What do I have to do? Please, help!!! I'm on the edge of quitting eBay.

Cool stuff! All new to me... but it seems like you need to be selling one specific thing, or a few specific things. Can this work for a seller of mostly new clothes, with tags, nice stuff, and reasonably priced? But just one of each....?

On eBay listed 50 listing from Amazon and banggood, since three months I got only two sales.

How do I get the Autods to stop messing around. it has stopped working on my files, meaning uploading the information. I have been selling out of stock products and cant find other sites that have them. Lastly, i uploaded AUtofinder products and they come back to be not tracked. Can you help.

Thanks for the reply. I did the first step (the others have done them constantly for a long time) the result was for half a day and quite good. Promoted ads and those that are not (the same as those promoted) were at the forefront. Then the sales fell again, the promoted ads are still at the top - the others have gone to a very back position, but sales are gone, has any such problem.

eBay totally is NOT a good venue to begin selling on. I have a product on Amazon that within 3 days went viral and I can hardly keep up with demand. Because Amazon fees are high, I decided to try and begin on eBay and the first MAJOR issue is selling limits are limited to $750 p/mo for 90 days. I’m selling from $19000 to $32000 monthly on Amazon with 1 product. Secondly, you CANNOT promote your listings until you’re store has had a 90-day history of no issues and above standard guidelines. Now does this make any sense for a new seller that can’t promote and (thus) won’t be about to promote to get to the top of the listings which will make sales happen? Who thought of these guidelines??

So ebay already take a fee when you sell something, and now they want you to spend more money so they can take another fee? this is just going to rise the price of everything, the seller looses and so does the customer.
