How I fixed this Webcam Flickering Glitch

TL;DW It's the USB ports. Check to see if your webcam is plugged into a USB 3.1. You may also need to go into Device Manager and make sure your computer isn't turning off your USB ports to save power. You can do so by right clicking each port under "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Then go into properties and power management and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Figured I'd copy the description in a pinned comment so this is easier to see. Didn't think this video would get traction, which is why I didn't get straight to the point. It's not a guarantee this will work but it seems to resolve most cases. My Webcam still glitches out for me on Discord but not in video recordings or other platforms like Zoom.

Mine was blurry and horrible looking. GlitchIng turning me blind.i came across your video. Your video saved me from more aggravation. Shut down put the plug in the port and turned the computer back on. I almost cried. Clear picture and no glitch! Thank You Thank You.

Spent some time scrolling and trying to figure out my glitching issue. I have a Logitech C922 cam and my god. Thank you brother, this fixed my issue and did not know this was a thing. Great video and explaining what to do.

Worked for me, I've had this webcam (a logitech c920e hd 1080p) for a year now, got used to doing videocalls with this glitching, but today I thought that I would finally try to solve it, came across your video and indeed it worked just switching from my USB hub to a USB in the back of the computer! Thanks a ton!

I was having the same problem with my webcam (logitech). It was working okay in Google meet but I had the same flickers in zoom, skype and even in windows camera app. Thanks to you I finally resolved the issue by plugging my webcam into 3.2 usb port. You are awesome !

same, usb hub made the problems 100x worse than it was (minor flickering without usb hub.)

Dude!! Thank you soo much, 3 years later but you’re still helping people. This fixed my intense glitching when I would plug in my mic. Without the mic the webcam worked fine weirdly enough but as soon as I would plug in the mic - glitchy video. Moved the port the webcam was plugged into and no more glitching!!!

It is working for the majority of us. The ports aren't marked on the back of my computer. I looked up my model and brand. I had mine in the 2.0. Switched it to a 3.1 and it works. In reference to the clickbait comment.

Thanks man, how does this even work? I have an old logitech c922 pro steam camera, the description says that usb 2.0 is enough, I tried to put usb 3.1 on your advice And REALLY THANK YOU EVERYTHING WORKS!!!

Sup! Great News. I'm dealing with the same problem, but Im not able to connect in the USB 3.1 port, I dont know why, but my graphic card isnt recognized in this port... And It is working "fine" in 3.0 (at leasts it is recognized, but with those glitchs)
