Hi my name is Tondelayo and I thank you so much for your videos. I am on my journey and trying to gain understanding of my spirituality as a whole. I am American and live in Tx. I say that to point out that I don’t know a lot about my ancestry and I was not raised in the way of the Yoruba culture. (I hope I’m saying that correctly) but what brings me here is that i feel I’ve been called in this direction. Several months ago I had a dream of a being that led me to my dad who had just crossed over. After this dream I had been receiving calls to take offerings to the crossroads. So this leads me here. I just found out about my ORI a few weeks ago from one of your videos and now you speak of the orisha Eshu and after researching him I realize he is the being or orisha that came to my dream. So with all that being said I don’t know where to turn now because I don’t know how to and I don’t have access to someone who can guide me or do a reading to let me know if I need to be in search of my head orisha now. A lot of the research had been on my own but I feel I need a teacher now to help me through the next step. Can you assist in anyway whether through guidance or referral? Ive sadly had no guidance with my yoruba path, where i live there are no Ifa locations nor people that can give me a readong in anyway. I have gifts I cannot control i.e. speaking into existence, tarot reading and contacting my ancestors as well as others for those i lovd. My readongs come out clear and accurate but i have no clue who to make my alter for in terms of orisha. No. Elegba / Elegua is an Orisha and not a direct ancestor of yours. In order to have a vessel for him that will help you in life there is a certain ceremony that must take place. You can always say his prayers no matter what.

It depends on your location. Some places have many Orisha communities. This tradition is about community and passing on knowledge through being part of an Orisha “house” also known by an Ile(eelay). Finding the right one takes time. Being careful to find legitimate priests is very important. Find out if there are Orisha cultural events and festivals in your area and attend some. Usually Egbe (societies) of different Orisha will sponsor events i.e. Obatala Egbe, Oshun Egbe. An Egbe is when priests of the same Orisha from different houses come together for various religious reasons. Another way is to ask for referrals from trusted sources.
