When we moved into our house a few years ago we did not own any furniture for our bedroom. I didn’t know where to start with furnishing the room since at the time I didn’t know anything about interior design or furniture. After learning I could find more affordable furniture by buying secondhand I very slowly over the past few years have bought pieces to build out this room. Through out this time there have been pieces that didn’t work out and some that I still have here now that I have designed around.
Buying used has allowed me to iterate more affordably and sustainably as I’ve resold and re-homed pieces that didn’t work out, and have kept the ones I really like. I’ve had to be flexible and creative with making things work over the years.
