A lot of foreigners with little education or no vocational skills have no problem in getting a job in Singapore. For example, we have around 20000 foreigners keeping our country clean.

i just visited Singapore and i immediately love this country. The people, the environment, food, traffic, etc.. I'm living in Vietnam and i'm in third year of Uni, hopefully i'll build my CV good enough to be able to work in SG.

Thank you. You are so inspiring! I am 21 currently, and will probably finish my bachelor's in International Business in a year (had a delay because of COVID). Since I specialized in the Asian market I have been wanting to live and work in Asia for quite some time now. Singapore seems like a perfect international hub for getting to know the various cultures but I heard that it's very difficult to land a job because of how competitive the country is. This video gave me a little more hope. Bless 🙏🏾

Thanks man, this video was very helpful and hopeful. ^^ I myself will only start with studies next year and finish in 2024, but want to prep myself years in advance, by networking for instance. People tend to exaggerate the difficulty of searching and the like, but with a bit of effort and patience, there's always an opportunity, as you confirmed. See you around one day, perhaps!

It does not work like that for Singapore. Likely a scam from your country. You need to secure employment with a company in Singapore before you can get here.... there's no such thing as applying directly to any immigration agency or any agent to get here. @@learnfrenchwithwamai1148

Its not easy to find a job in sg as fresh grad + being a foreigner I know because I’ve been there and still is. You must have worked really hard Adrian! Thanks for sharing your experience :)

I'm a master 2 degree holder in American literature and working presently as a Costumer service representative. I also got a background in Web writing. What do you think about that...

Hi Adrian, thanks for sharing. I am also originally from China but did my BA and MA in the US, but I came to NTU for my Ph.D. this year, so I feel really happy to have found out about your channel and substantially learned from your experience. There are many Chinese students and workers straight from China, but not too many like us who (in an interesting way) can think, talk, work and study both as Chinese but also as Angmo Americans. I do feel that we, as Chinese graduates from US schools, sometimes do have an advantage in our language and work skills since US schools really pushed students to take internships and learn from the industry more often. Btw, I graduated with a BA from Rice University and came to learn about Singapore in 2020, and made the final move across the pacific recently. I really feel related to a lot of your experiences. Also love your channel and keep up the good work!

U are very lucky 😉 I thought MOM does not allow yet foreigners to land a job in sg. I'm pretty sure u have a good company as they are able to provide u EP and got approved in a week. Goodluck and all the best!

Hi Adrian, I commented on this video a few months back, as I am also hoping to work in Singapore in the future. In the meantime, I've kept doing my research and read that the minimum salary requirement for the E-Pass has risen to 5000SGD. I was wondering if this affects you (as a current E-Pass holder), and whether or not this makes applying for jobs harder for non-Singaporean gradutates/professionals. Please let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Did you mention that you were applying from the US in your applications? Or was that something that came up at interview stage; not sure whether to add this info as its not always a prerequisite on application websites and not sure whether this will act for or against the application...thanks in advance

From 2025, new applicants for the Employment Pass (EP) system will have to earn at least 5,600 Singapore dollars ($4,140) per month, up from 5,000 Singapore dollars ($3,700).

Hi Adrian, I have 6 yrs marketing experience in Taiwan. 3 yrs advertising agency, 1 yrs music streaming, 1 yrs digital bank. I wonder the marketing job market in Singapore. In Taiwan, marketers have glass ceiling in lots of industries, such as banking, tech firms(with tangible products). If I want a stable and career without glass ceiling, what industries would you recommend?

Your diverse marketing background is very impressive! Personally I'd say in Singapore, esp in the tech sector, there's a pretty good culture of equality and fair treatment, which could offer a great environment for career growth. With your experience, I'd recommend exploring opportunities in Singapore's fintech or digital and creative industries. These sectors value innovation and could provide a platform for your skills to shine. Best of luck!!

Heyo, Adrian, another comment many months down the line. From your more recent videos, it looks like your life in Singapore is still as exhilarating as ever. ^^ I would like to know, might you make another update video like this in future? You have probably seen that MOM will implement new parameters on the Employment Pass from September 2023. With these new requirements, the bar has been raised so high (minimum S$4500 p/m to S$5000) that will considerably push the difficulty of finding a job in an entry level position, never mind as a fresh graduate. What are your thoughts on this?

hey man! i think the barriers to entry are always there but a lot of firms are still willing to hire fresh graduates who really excel in certain fields and can bring certain expertise to the company. Crypto and defi companies are also constantly hiring (a couple friends of mine went there) as well as large banking/finance sector
