Subscribed to your channel after seeing some of your older videos. But the channel only has recent podcasts. How do I see your older YT videos? Thanks from Florida.
Just found you Jodie and you're wonderful instructive videos today. Love the energy that you bring not only to your paintings but to you videos. I will definitely be watching all you have to offer and thank you for sharing your talent, knowledge and energy with us. Marlene, Nova Scotia
Hi Diane, I choose my colors intuitively. But its important to note that not all colors look great or cohesive on a painting. Ex: imagine if daVinci used lime green on the Mona Lisa...it would be a fail. But I've developed and trademarked a method where we can choose whatever colors we like and they will be cohesive in a painting. If you're interested in learning the method along with composition and so much more you can check out the link here for The Color Course for Rebels. www.jodiekingart.com/ccfr
Jodi, in addition to Brenda's question below about fast drying paint, have you ever tried Golden fluid paints for your work or just Nova? I have all Golden brands (heavy body and fluid) and I've tried every thing from mediums, glosses and water and all it does is breakdown the paint while on the canvas. I was just wondering if you tried both brands and noticed a difference. Also, I have family in Austin, do you do any private lessons or workshops only?
Tracy Thanks for your question! I have tried both brands and I do love Golden Fluids, but always go back to Nova. Before COVID, I taught workshops here in my studio in Austin and hope to do so again!
Brenda I use acrylics but I don’t add anything for flow. My favorite brand is Nova and they flow easily. Sometimes the brushes are wet, but when I first get started they’re usually dry. It kind of just depends on my mood of the day. Hope that helps!!
Hi Lynn, I choose my colors intuitively after my meditation. I find that it helps me get out of my head. But as we know, not all colors look cohesive together, so I use a special color mixing technique. If you’d like to learn more about that or just want to feel more free in your color mixing, I have a course called the Color Course for Rebels (it also teaches about composition, techniques and more.) Obviously no pressure but lots of artists have found it helpful. Thanks for your question!
