When I was starting out, all I wanted to know was - how long does it really take to write a book and get a literary agent? Hi! I did! I actually found hiring an editor (and a book coach!) so beneficial - and people asked me about it so often - that I started an entire agency of writing and editing professionals who offer these services. There's a ton more info here: laurenkaywrites.com/developmental-editing :)

Billions of books have potential - if a writer has a great book, they also need to look great - great hair, great face, great body, great clothes, an awesome smile, gorgeous eyes, beautiful skin, a great speaking voice, brilliant conversation, elegant gestures, very well mannered and polite, gentle and kind ... because people want a piece of greatness

Hm, an interesting take. I think a beautiful mind is more important than looks when it comes to novels. Politeness and respect are important as well, as you say!

@@laurenkaywrites I heard a publisher say that the visual appeal of a writer - and their ability to schmooze with their fans - is often the deciding factor in which author they will publish.

😅 well, guess that cuts out older authors like myself, no matter how great my story is. 😅 this is untrue, though, otherwise there wouldn't top class older authors. Alright, many of them have been successful for years, but they are still very successful and wealthy. 😅 Good luck everyone.

I actually think publishers are increasingly interested in telling the stories of different demographics. I wouldn't be surprised to find that reading demographics are tending to skew older post-internet.

My characters WILL NOT SHUT UP. They (not literally) tell me where the story goes to. My one book is now 6 books as long as these people will stop talking. And they talk and talk. And yes, many characters are male. And they will no shut up! 😂 I can't write fast enough 😂😂😂. Just can't get an agent
