Yo i currently on a 2 year new grad program at fiserv doing quality assurance. I might be doing software engineering in year 2. I watched ur ga tech omscs videos and wanted to know did you do internships during ur masters? If not is it possible to do some? Im thinking of doing the OMSCS to specialise in HPC or computer systems and also give myself a good name uni on resume also to be able to get another shot at SWE internships/jobs at FAANG/quant companies? What do you think?
Hey man, I did not do any internships during my masters. I started the OMSCS program at the same time I started as a full time SWE at IBM. I actually work in Azure in the HPC org (managing AI Infrastructure) now and regret not taking more computing systems classes (I did the ML Specialization). Be sure to subscribe- i will make a video about my current role soon! It definitely is possible to do internships during the masters, but doing OMSCS + your job at fiserv + an internship IS impossible (unless you are a superhuman)
