When I found out that I had HSV2, it took a while, but eventually I took it as this message saying, "You cannot afford to give yourself to men who do not truly care for you, so now you can only let in the ones who would truly love you, even in the face of risk." And that message was specific to me and what I was going through and choosing and wanting to learn for myself at the time. But that is how I transmuted the situation. Big blessings to you, Love.

Why not use condoms? To go through depression or feeling insecure should motivate you to do something better with yourself not sleep with random men. The guilt after you have sleeping with random men is not worth it but I'm glad your bettering yourself.

Thanks to all of you who tell your potential partner about this before anything happens. I don't have it but as we get older things like that don't seem matter as much. We all just want to be with somebody who is on our same level and it becomes so rare that when you find that person, hopefully neither of you ever lets go. Good luck everybody

Amen. DITTO. LAST MONTH got my diagnosis. I appreciate you sharing your story. I am 68 yrs old. Never thought I would be ever at my age to get any STD. I was in major shock. I am still dealing with my person after diagnosis. I did research and found out many older people have STDs. Some know, and most don't have a clue. It is your immune health, which determines breakouts. My past, with an auto immune disease 😪. My partner has an excellent immune system. I have accepted my responsibility with herpes. Its been couple weeks since my diagnosis, got the call from my doc while i was driving , had to pull over and take it in. When i first started feeling symptoms i was worried and i panicked when i went to urgent care to get looked at … spent all weekend torturing myself with thoughts.. just trying to accept the fact i will have this for the rest of my life .. thx for this video it has given me hope for a brighter day.

My baby daddy just transmitted HV2 to me and lied and told me that the circle rash that he had on his face was a bee sting 🤦🏽‍♀️ and when I started to get symptoms he acted like he didn’t care and then when I got the results back and told him he said I got it from someone else and not from him and he never tested positive for it and kicked me out of his house

Life With Herpes with Alexandra Harbushka I was forced to keep a secret by my ex girlfriend many years back, when her younger sister was diagnosed with herpes, and the things my ex said about her own sister made me feel so bad inside, and with the younger sister since she did not confide in me I could not tell her I knew about her situation, and had to act like I didn't know anything about her condition, it was so easy because she is a nice sweet person. I've been out of touch with them since I split with the mean ex. But remain very sympathetic, so glad your in this world you and others who share and educate make a difference too be sure 🌹

Usher didn't disclose to alot of women that he had herpes and didn't use protection. That's why usher was sued and outed. Usher knew he had herpes and didn't disclose.

My ex got HSV2 recently and I know that even with condoms she can still transmit it to me. I ain’t gonna lie I don’t want to catch it but I do love her and it’s hard not to feel disappointed. I was hoping we could work things out and I don’t mean to be judgmental but it’s hard not to feel heartbroken for her and our situation. I was diagnosed in 2014. I had not had sex in 6 years prior to dating a person that I knew from my hometown. We spent 4 days together and I started to be very painful right after I returned home. I remember how my world felt like it was crashing around me. I was also diagnosed with a yeast infection AND chlamydia. When I told the guy I was seeing, he told me that I had it before and that I didn't get it from him. We got into a huge argument over it and it took him 3 months to finally test himself before he called to apologize to me. It's still a hard conversation to have with potential partners. The only people that don't know I have it is my parents, otherwise I'm pretty open with friends, other family, and coworkers. I had one coworker call me after I had talked about it one evening to confide in me that she was diagnosed and how scared she was. It made me feel good that I was able to help comfort somebody newly diagnosed because it isn't something that I had when I was diagnosed.

There was zero % chance there was going to be some horrible Googled picture of an outbreak as the logo. So, Alexandra and the team decided to get creative and look towards nature and come up with something that is aesthetically pleasing. And we came across the pomegranate! Think about it...don't the seeds kind of look like blisters? And what is also pretty cool is the pomegranate has been used through history by Kings and Queens as a holy symbolism. In general, the pomegranate represents fruitfulness, knowledge, learning, and wisdom so we think pomegranates are the perfect symbol for the Life With Herpes Community. Don't you?

Thank you for sharing your story. It takes so much strength to do this. I have it but HSV 1 and it takes a toll on your self esteem and mental health. I got it from using a lipgloss my mom gave me that was contaminated. My mom get cold soar frequently on her lips and unfortunately she did not disclosed it to me that she used it that lipgloss. i found out just over a week ago in the middle of a shift and i work in hospitality so i work like 12 hour shifts in jeans with the worst ulcers😭 it really was not the most comfortable experience at all but still no one knows other than my two closest friends and i really don’t know what to do with myself still🤣 if anyone has any advice for someone with hsv-1 but the genital version please let me know :)

I admire your bravery. I've had it since 2010 and have become a lot more isolated as a result. Trying to get back out there more these days but the whole getting rejected turns me off to the whole thing. The stigma is pretty bad, I had a good friend explain a recent date he went on where the girl was honest with him and told him she had hsv. And instead of being cool about it he rejected her. He was telling this story to me and a bunch of friends too, messed up. Something tells me he just earned himself some karma. Anyway have you ever heard of a natural medication called fenvir? It doesn't require a prescription and it actually works. I don't take it everyday because it gets spendy, just when I feel an outbreak coming on. It prevents it from becoming a full on outbreak, at least for me. I think it works way better then the prescription stuff. didn't realize how old this video was until I finished writing all this Lol.

No, nothing we know to this day, can actually kill the virus. It is very good at hiding and hence, hard to target. But, supplements can help with suppressing it, so it doesn't become active.

I think I may have them. But I know I got it from the flu shot back in 2019. And I think I give them to my husband. I know he did not give them to me. And I have never been with no one but my husband. I had something going on with me when I got the flu shot.

I’m so sorry to hear that. No offense to your husband, I wish you both well, but hearing your story just makes me want to hug you and tell you that everything will be ok, I’ll tell you what to do. I’ve been dealing with HSV1 my entire life, the outbreaks started when I was only few years old and they kept progressing and sometimes becoming dangerous. I’ve had outbreaks all over the lower half of my face, including nose (inside and out). Lately they’ve been moving closer towards eyes and that’s something I’m seriously worried about. I don’t want to lose my eyesight. Anyway, since I’ve been dancing with this monster my entire life, I’ve learned a lot. And I mean a lot lot. I’d be really happy to share this info and the wealth of tricks and methods of fighting outbreaks.

It was shocking for me when i diagnosed i could not tell my husband being India lot of old school thoughts. I slept for 2 hours i told my best friend he also could not sleep. Next day i went to office i research research snd reasearch i called my husband and said " i dont know how to say it its devastating to know that i have detected herpes 1. He said okaaa. Then after a moment he said thats ok. Its not a big thing do you have any symptoms rihht now ? I said noo.. apart from UTI like symptoms, he said be calm its ok. And then later i got to know that my father in law who was dermotolist he also had herpies 1. I had no freaking idea about this virus

When you request a blood test you have to specifically ask what you're testing for. In other words, there's no general blood test. So if you want to test for STD's then you need to ask for them.

Turns out it was the f#$ingDOCTOR she wasn't wearing a GLOVE 🥊 it was painful i thought it was a skin infection or something. Sorry but I am gonna be regular on your channel. V M well, HSV1 is herpes however not an STD, HSV2 is the STD. HSV1 only showes up as cold sores around your mouth and on your face. It is very very contagious when its in that form. HSV2 is genital herpes, this form is the STD that is being talked about. They are both forms of herpes however not the same thing

Don't forget to mention Shingles which is a form of Herpes on the body and is contagious but with time and patience, it too passes/goes away.

Your herpes sores can transmit to a vagina or penis if you choose to do oral sex also can be transmitted to any part if body also to your eyes nose and anus so stay away from doing stuff with your mouth when your blisters are showing and pussing the puss is highly contagious please be careful

No, you can get herpes and don't have any symptoms, or get very mild symptoms. Actually, it's often like that, that's why a lot of cases of herpes get undiagnosed, also meaning these people transmit easier because they are not aware of their diagnosis.

I don't understand why you would need to back track and give a phone call to your previous sex partners 🤔 anyone you had sexual relations with prior to that STI screening you responsibly took that came back negative would surely not have contracted anything from you

I started to date a long time friend and I trusted her and we kissed, 2 weeks later I have this horrible cold sore. She didn't bother to tell me that she had that . I didn't want to hide my first ever cold sore, and have avoided most women throughout my life out of phobia of catching herpes, but nyc will constantly point you out and make audible comments like ew gross he hass herpes... And it goes on all day long to the point where it drives you to want to jump in front of a train. Now I tried to hide it and of course all the same people that were commenting the first day are now commenting about how you were trying to hide it. People have absolutely no compassion. People don't realize that the person that was so unlucky to receive it already has to deal with the mental torture of an already limited dating pool being shrunken down into a microscopic pinpoint and knowing that they have to spend the rest of their lives being shamed publicly all day every time a cold sore appears, so next time you see someone that has a cold sore just shut up and leave them alone. Just keep your mouth shut and leave them be or you may be the reason why they end their life.

Do you still have outbreaks? Or like do you ever get them often?? I just found out I have them ( I’m 19 years old). I’m barely in my first serious relationship. My partner and I have been together for almost a year and we both lost our virginities to each other we’ve never had any other partners. We both always shower before we engage in sexual activity and we brush our teeth. I had gotten a “paper cut” in my vagina lip like a week ago and it healed, like a week later my partner and I had intercourse and the wound reopened so I’m thinking maybe the wound got infected somehow and I got herpes type 2. I honestly am not sure how I got them but it’s been an extremely painful couple of days and I just went to the doctor today and got medicine. Is there anyway that you can relieve the herpes sores pain, it’s killing me. I can’t stop crying.

I just found out on Wednesday and I’ve been In pain since Sunday , how can I ease the pain from the sores there are a bunch I can barely walk and I got prescribed acyclovir , and ibuprofen

Fill the bath up and add some salt, or Epson salt. Make sure that the bath is not hot but warm. You can take a cool flannel or tea bag and gently put it onto the area to ease the pain. The salt will help to heal the blisters and the coolness from the cold flannel and tea bags will help with the pain and itching. Make sure that you get plenty of rest. The first year is the worst, but as time goes by, you will get less outbreaks. Research it on line for more ways of coping. Hope this helps!

I got herpes from a guy when I was 18. Only the second guy I had ever slept with. I thought my life was over. I wish I had done my research. I thought I was damaged goods. 3months after being diagnosed I got into a relationship with the first guy who liked me and accepted my diagnosis. He said not everyone would have me considering I had herpes. Which is true I know. Anyway 9yrs later and we are married with two kids. I have a comfortable and safe home and things could be way worse. But I rushed. I panicked that no one would love me and I was broken and would never get that white picket fence and I settled. It worked out great. In hindsight I wonder why the adults in my life didn't pull me to one side and say hey slow down, stop rushing, everything is going to be okay. What I mean is, you have time and even though it may feel like the end of the world it isn't. Give yourself time to process before making decisions.
