And side note: Oxford is by no means the definition of success or intelligence - in fact being here has helped me learn that sometimes it feels like the opposite - feel empowered in whatever you do and achieve because it is VALID.

Damn! Students spend more than two years dreaming about going to Oxford and you decided to go there so late and still got there. Big ups! Also, can you advice me on when should I start preparing my personal statement? I want to apply at Oxford for E&M class of 2025 and I am currently in IBDP.

Hi Krish! Haha I didn't start late, I'm not sure what you mean by that, start researching books/seminars/lectures/podcasts/areas you're interested in 3-6 months before the deadline and start writing up 2-3 months before - this is my opinion not a fixed fact so other timelines could work!

@@bubblegum901 I've applied now and would say focus on each stage of the application at a time and really just read what interests you. Don't be put off by the interviews either, for me it was actually a pretty underwhelming experience lol and I think it's a good idea to research your other unis and don't let the whole hype around oxbridge consume you. Best of luck with your application and if you do A levels, you'll smash it! :)

I'm considering doing English at oxford and I'm doing English literature at a level- but my other 3 subjects are very heavily inclined towards physics. Do you think that's bad? Because most people I imagine do humanities or social sciences to compliment English...

Justanotheracc I think it’s absolutely insane that your mind can do both subjects! Treat it as an advantage and strength! I think it should be absolutely fine - I know someone who does History at Cambridge Uni but did Science A-Levels

You cand defo still do it ! I did maths, physics and English and it didn’t hinder the application process. They did it bring it up at the interview and asked why I ended up pursuing literature over maths / physics though.

If anything it shows you have a more diverse range of analytical skills, so you are both practical and creative, both of which are great qualities to have

Is Oxford summer school actually a thing? How did you subscribe? I've been trying to find it on internet but I haven't found anything official organized from the university of Oxford. Neetu Singh thanks! It was really good, I learnt so much. I actually also won an award on the programme so I have a place on Pembroke scholars (not sure if you know about it), but hopefully it will all be super useful for my application. I also saw you on their website and I’m also in a video they’ve recently put on there too. Maybe the dream of Oxford can come true! (A-levels first!). I am Dikshita and my undergrad subject choice is English language and Literature. so, how about reading Maurice by EM foster and then talking about it in my Personal Statement? will it put a good enough impression on the professors reading it. Also, how about including in the PS, other complicated literature for example Ulysses by James Joyce

Hi Rose! Some advice for now would be to get ahead of reading before term starts and spend some time (if you can) doing some fun shopping for your room because it's a huge achievement so treat yourself!!

D O Definitely ! But remember GCSE grades are 1 part of the entire process so it’s great that they’re really high but don’t worry about them not being all 9s either because you have your personal statement, interviews and entrance exam too!

Hi Jesse, no, I think I'd enjoy being in an academic environment, but not as a professor one day. I'm currently working in theatre as an Assistant Director, I'm considering directing as a career.
