international student here!!! going through my application to Yale University as an Australian / International student. SAT scores, school grades, extracurriculars, essays, and everything that I put on my Common Application to Yale! I hope this helps if you're thinking of applying to an Ivy League or another top US college. id never get into an American uni hahaha definitely didn't get A's in high school! managed to whiz through degree, masters and two post grad certs in Aus though!

mahmoud shehata because I’ve been in my current career for well over a decade and there’s no scope for career progression. I’ve been at the “peak” of my career for several years now. I don’t earn enough and would never be able to retire. The thought of being stuck teaching violin for another 40-50 years fills me with dread. So I did something about it. I’m still teaching while I’m getting qualified, but only to support myself financially until I have a different income source.

hi! Does the common app allow you to submit an atar or did you have to convert your grades into a gpa? Also, am I allowed to submit a predicted atar bcus my QCE exams are after the ED applications? Congratulations btw!

thank you! I was able to submit an ATAR and didn’t have to convert my grades to a GPA. I think a predicted ATAR should be fine, but I’d recommend checking with the colleges you’re applying to by emailing the admissions department about all this

I live in Western Australia, so I did WACE. I didn't have to do IB - you can do WACE, VCE, HSC, etc even if you're applying overseas for university.

It's sad because my high school is very little public high school and it really don't provide much of opportunities to do something exiting and don't provide any AP classes and that's really not my fault but still it's gonna decide my future 😞

Hi! Don’t know if it’s too late now as your comment is a year old. But if not then I would say try applying anyway! The schools look at what your school offers and takes that into consideration as they know that not all students have the same opportunities! What’s important is that you make the most of the opportunities you have and that you can show that!

Im so confused with waht SAT is like as someone from NSW who went of the ATAR system like we gratuated with an overall ATAR out of 100 after sitting an exam for each subject

basically it’s 4 sections, maths without calculator (20 questions), maths with calculator (38 questions) reading (52 questions) and writing&language (44 questions). They grade you out of 800 for both maths sections combined and out of 800 for both english sections combined (1600 in total) and then there’s an optional essay (based on a comprehension passage) which is graded seperately. All questions are multiple choice and the test is almost 4 hours. Idk if that helps

Hey, would universities like to see a gradual improvement in scores or they only consider students who've been good at academics all their life? Because I've not been the best student in grade 9&10 but I'm kinda improving now... So, would I have a chance at an ivy league?
