As an 8th grader entering 9th grade at Brooklyn Tech high school , I thought it would be hard for me to cope with the next four years, but this video helped me calm down and look forward to them.
I am currently on my summer break heading to 9th grade and Yale University is my dream school. This video definitely helped me to calm down and made me have an idea of what to do during my high school career to hopefully reach my goal. Thank you and good job!!!
If you need more advice, I have a new video coming out soon in 5 minutes (11:15am EST) about all of my advice for getting into Yale as well as the Ivys. If you would like me to read your app, essay or answer questions, be one of the first 50 to comment and send me an email which is linked in that description
Thank you so much! I’m going into 9th grade this year and I’m worried about all the things I should take and do. I go to a small school and not a lot comes from it so I wanted to prove to everyone I’m capable of going to Yale. You made me feel so much better and more confident.❤
I believe in you! I have a lot of friends from small high schools who are going to school with me! Same opportunities, same scholarships. It’s not the school, it’s the person, and I argue that a small school makes it easier to stand out. Keep pushing, keep trying and keep your head up. Much love, Kayla
I’m currently in eighth grade and I’m hoping to get into Yale as it’s been my dream school for years. This video helped so much with what to expect and how to manage my school years for the next five years!
Congrats! I want to apply next year. But I'm from Ukraine and still checking my chances with the country's different educational system and current situation. You gave me some good insights! Thank you!
im going to highschool this year and its definitely a scary experience in my life i don't know what to expect so thanks for making this video i wanna go into an ivy league college one day so i could make my family proud and i can be the first one in my family to do something special with their life
fall in the same boat. None of my parents even graduated from high school! You don’t need an ivy to make them proud, but i’m sure you will. Good luck, you’ll do great
The way I chuckled when you mentioned your audience most likely being 13 years old. I'm currently an 8th grader and this video helped me so much with my research of how I can find my way to my journey to enter yale. I've been stressing about how I should plan out my high school years but your experience made me way more confident for my future and how I will follow my path to Yale. Thank you so much ‼️🫶
this vid was so simple and easy to follow, thank you fr! 🙏😭 and I just wanted to clarify - for Yale, does it mean that if u applied early to them, you can’t apple early for any other ivy?
I’m going into junior year and I’ve been really stressed because my school only offers one ap to sophomores (ap euro) and I’m only taking 2 this year. I already planned to take four or five senior year so seeing that you had a similar schedule as me really helped me calm down for the next two years! I got a four in ap euro (my multiple choice score was low 😭) so I’m a little unsure I can have the success you did. If anyone that reads this is currently going to a top college but didn’t get all 5s for aps, how did you make up for it?
This made me feel so confident did you get a full scholarship to Yale because my parents said get a full scholarship I graduate 2024 I’m hoping to get the full scholarship
Congrats on your admission to Yale. Can you do a video explaining how you did so well in your classes (+97%)? Your GPA must be insanely high. Any study or note taking tips would be appreciated as my boy just got into Bronx Science.
@@kaylasierrah That's amazing! Looking forward to the videos and will make sure my son watches he one. Make sure you go into detail by subject as I am sure it various by subject. For example, you are right social studies is just straight memorization but ELA and math require more thinking.
As promised, the guide for Yale and high school success will be here in 2 minutes! Also best of luck to your son!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R44c9OA7cRU.html
Can you do a full video on your college essay? Or even if you listed them on Application Bee or Admit Yogi, I would buy them in a heartbeat... I need inspiration so bad and Yale is my dream school 😭
what about international students who obviously have a whole different system and duration of education? I am a Cameroonian and here, we have 1 national exam in secondary school which permits us to get into high school and another national exam which permits high school students to get into universities . In a nutshell how will an application go for me, given the numerous differrences
seeing all the freshmen comment make me feel old😭i’m a junior & i haven’t really taken a lot of thought in college until now. my gpa is perfect but i don’t have many extracurriculars other than soccer and upward bound. i haven’t taken the SAT yet either, any advice on getting into good schools?
They look at you in the context of your school, so they won't compare you to people who have AP! I have a video abt why I didn't end up going though that comes out in abt 30 min
Hi! I was wondering if you have any tips on teacher recommendations? Specifically how you should ask your teachers for a rec and if you need to provide them with any extra information before you ask them? I love your channel by the way!
My tips are: 1. have one from humanities and one from stem, it does you’re well rounded and capable of being great in multiple subjects 2. your teachers don’t have to be the ones where your grade it the highest! i asked my pre calc teacher (after failing 2 of her tests) and her rec was one of the strongest. 3. avoid teachers that aren’t from your junior (11th grade) year. 4. Ask them what their policies are for recs, ask them in person and then send them an email explaining what the rec is for (as proof and final confirmation for your rec). Many teachers will have you fill out a questionnaire for recs, but it’s good to tell them a little able yourself when sending an email. Be kind and make sure you follow all instructions given to you in a timely manner!
I advised diversity training in new hires by screening them on their knowledge of other cultures/reactions to other cultures. Then we also planned events and other activutues to educate students!
I would love to ! I have a new video coming out soon in 5 minutes (11:15am EST) about all of my advice for getting into Yale as well as the Ivys. hey! could you make a vid explaining how to apply for financial aid? I really want to go to Yale and im ranked #1 at my school curently, but i'm scared that I cant go because I can't affored it :(
Hey I visited Yale recently and they give 100% financial aid if your family makes less than 75k per year. But they also give aid above that just not 100%
hi kayla , i have a a question , i'am an international student (not living in the us) but my dream it's to study in yale but when i search i found that it's so hard to study in yale if you were an international student so please can you tell me if this is true or not , now i just finish 9th grade with a very high grades but i feel like there are something missing and i want to know what do i need to study i yale , and thank you so much🤍
Yale is 22% international students, meaning it is very competitive, but not impossible. I am going to make a video abt studying and organizing to get into ivys soon! With that said, make sure your grades on above avg for your school and your country!
Hey! I need some advice. I am currently working for an Instagram page with over 120k followers dedicated to astrophysics, cosmology, and astronomy. The page regularly posts information on these fascinating topics. My role involves conducting research on various subjects and presenting the information in a concise and attractive manner for this page. I have been engaged in this position for the past 2 years. I am wondering if this experience could be considered a research internship or some other kind of activity. Moreover, I am applying for the undergraduate program in the Astrophysics department for the Fall of 2024, and I would like to know how I can present this experience in an attractive way on the Common App. And can you review my essay for yale? Thank you for your help!
Yes, that can be used as a part of your common app! And as for reviewing your essays, I would love to ! I have a new video coming out soon in 5 minutes (11:15am EST) about all of my advice for getting into Yale as well as the Ivys. If you would like me to read your app, essay or answer questions, be one of the first 50 to comment and send me an email which is linked in that description
@@kaylasierrah I wrote essays on 22-23 promt because I thought prompt won't change but it changed so I need to write it again. Can I Mail it when I will be done with it?
Hi I’m going into my senior year and I’m wondering if you could review my stats. I don’t know my chances of getting in an Ivy League so having so confirmation would be nice.
1! My school doesn’t rank students, rather we get a recommendation from our counselors. The counselors then compare our stats and I was informed that I had one of the best stats ratio in my grade. However, I have a friend who ranked 30th and still got in, as well as friends who had 94-96 averages.
20% of Yale is comprised of international students! You can apply through their normal application process (usually common app) and indicate you are from another country.
@@brooke-sterling im not sure what ur asking 😭 when u apply to college, u can apply to however many you want. if u choose to ed to one school, you can only apply early there and u can apply regular anywhere else. if u get into ur ed school you have to go and remove ur applications anywhere else, and if you dont get in u can go to any other school u got in to
None! I am a pretty plain student until senior year when I introduced the UN ambassador and won 7 awards and a scholarship (but none of that counts). As normal as it can be aside from my wins in MUN (but it's a club so I doubt it counts).
It’s a senior year writing course! It covers well, traditional literature 😅. You learn to analyze the deeper meanings of texts and write a thesis paper about them! Overall, it’s relatively easy
My school doesn’t have them either so when I asked someone they told me when I apply I should inform them that my school don’t offer them so that’s what I will be doing
