Hi ladies, just thought I'd share some suggestions on what to ask for when going to the barbershop for a haircut. It can be very intimidating, cuz guys are definitely going to be paying attention. I'm sharing my experience with my barber who've I've been going to for 4 years now. I'll also share some tips on how to take care of and maintain your fade while starting your waves. The products I use in my hair are easily accessible and will not create product buildup. I hope yall enjoy this short instructional/how-to video.

Bartering is an art. Some people just cutting hair. A talented barber will look at the face,shape of the head ,and texture of hair . If you bring a picture ,it will not look exactly like the picture but will fit it you and the above things mentioned

I'm 21, been cutting mine since I was 18, and I've never looked back. 1.5 inches of growth is too much for me. I'm running to the barbers :)))) Its freeing , and I do feel the most confident with my hair short !!

Same! My mom asks me why I cut all my hair off and it's because I feel best and cleanest this way. It suits my personality!

Your hair looks great. I learned the hard way I have to direct the barber. They don't consider female vs male barber cuts.

Girl, yes you do have to direct. I do I’m the beginning . However, my barber knows how I like my haircut. I’ll go back to it probably later on this year. I’m really enjoying some length right about now.

You have to feminize the fade. You wear it . It does not wear you. One of my late Barber used to say.

Men love hair period but we love switching up our hairstyles and I am seriously thinking of cutting my locs and just starting over naturally and I love short hairstyles. It gives you that extra ump!

Hey 👋🏽 . 8 years locd. Cut them back in august. First I shaved one side kept designs. Then I finally cut all off. Did the fade game for a while. Attempted growing it back out like pixie cut type….. needless to say. Going back to my barber tomorrow. 9 months without my locs still don’t regret anything.

I love it . I had no idea it was high and a low fade . I just tell my husband grab the clippers and let’s get this hair cut. Right now I am just a tad shorter than yours and platinum blonde ( yeah Jasmine’s millions views video taught me how to color my hair ) and I love it . It’s so easy . I have been a girl rocking a fade for many years... I don’t like my hair tapered either.. (skin showing) I use coconut oil...or Shea butter and occasionally I use a tap of edge control to lay down the hair that sticks up...only when I need a haircut..I don’t use doo-rags.. only because they give me a headache..no matter how loose I tie it.so I use a silk scarf..let me just say you are Gorgeous and you’re rocking that fade. I’m 51 and my hair is starting to turn gray...but I’m gracefully embracing it but I will color it every once in awhile..

Always take a picture of your desired style to your barber. The barber will be able to tweek to style to your facial features.

I’m so nervous about this transition I’m about to embark but I’m 29 and I’m so over my shoulder length hair. I big chopped to a twa 11 years ago but I want my hair exactly like this for my 30th. I want to grow it from the root and lose all this breakage.

So just to clarify ideally you want to do this at bedtime and sleep with the dorug? Also I am traveling Friday early morning and unable to get the crinkle and curl by then do you have alternatives recommendations instead of the Taajid Waajid one?

Yes, do this routine at bedtime or right after you shampoo your hair. After shampooing, set your hair and wear durag while you do your makeup. Yes, you can use any type of wrapping foam that has no alcohol. Hope this helps hun 💜
