A younger brother of mine actually was dropped from medicine course after the completion of 4th year going to 500 level due to one reason or the other and has collected his transcript to continue abroad. Hi sis, just found your channel. Please i studied Geophysics and i don't know which jobs to apply for in this field. I plan on going for a course in IT but it's more like a certification course. Do you think a certification course is enough to apply for a job in the UK?

Hi. I'm not sure. I think it depends on how strong the certification course is and the platform you take the course from.

Hello Maryam, to connect with recruiter it is best to change my location from Nigeria to country where I would like to move to.

Do you mean change your location on your CV or your LinkedIn profile? To apply for jobs, modify your CV and remove Nigeria from it. When you write the place you worked, don't write Nigeria after it. For example, if you worked as a data analyst at "XZ PLC, Nigeria". When writing your CV for UK jobs, only write "XZ PLC" Then to connect with recruiters on LinkedIn, you can let them know that you are in Nigeria but looking to make a career move to the UK (or the country you want to move to).

It is a requirement for certain jobs. But not a requirement for sponsorship visa. The major requirement for a work visa sponsorship is the employment letter from the company inviting you to work in the UK.

The way Nigerians are relocating is alarming, the restrictions in Dubai could being but on Nigerians because they are really too much of them there and causing alot of problems it ended up affection other African countries

Ironically, I didn't know there was a "Japa" wave until few weeks after I got into UK. I didn't know that a lot of people were relocating from Nigeria. However, I get your point. It's best to have a plan when moving to a new country, especially one you don't know how the system works, to avoid being stranded.
