Hey, I was giving my case as an experience “I paid $7500 for my last sem already “. Assuming that a student is working 16-20hours and is earning $1000/month so number of months which I considered 7 in this case ($1000 x 7 months + $7500 tuition that has been paid already = $14,500)

Hi Miss Batra, well explained and quite informative, but I've applied for the study permit using the new portal of IRCC and have got my visa from that portal, so I don't have GCKey account now. Can I create a new GCKey account and apply for an extension afresh? ( The reason for extension is because of my validity of the Passport: My passport didn't have the validity to cover my entire stay for study in Canada, so I've renewed it in Toronto recently)

Hey, thanks for your kind words. I think you should register for a new gckey account and create an application through that but i would suggest you to link it with a sign-in partner for easy access in future. You will need this account for every application (study permit, work permit, visa, pr).

Hey, you can show the money in whatever form you want just make sure that it is sufficient to cover you for the period you are applying for the extension. For example, around $7500 if you are extending for 6 months

Hey Arpit, 1. The previous and the current course and college. 2. The date for the current study permit since you are applying for an extension. PLEASE WRITE DOWN THE DETAILS OF THE COURSE INCLUDING THE END DATE IN YOUR EXPLANATION LETTER.

You have to apply for TRV (Temporary Residence Visa) in order to receive the letter that will have the address details where you have to send your passport. Just re-do the questionnaire in CIC portal and the option for TRV will appear.

PLEASE REPLY !!! I have downloaded the IMM5709e form but when I open it in Acrobat, it says the validity of the document certification is UNKNOWN. The author could not be verified. But in your video it says certified by IRCC. It's not the same with my case. I have filled everything and it did get validated and got barcodes but I am afraid if I should submit the application if it has such message at the top. Please help, it has been late for my extension.

You should apply for an extension for less than 6 months because it will take time for your transcript and other documents to be processed and it is better to have enough time for yourself to prepare the documents while applying for your work permit, this way you will have enough time to gather your documents and you will be able to work as well otherwise you will have to stop working until you get the letter for applied status. Ircc will send you a letter saying that you can work full-time until so and so date. Working before getting that letter might get you in trouble later.

Yes Which exception do you qualify for? I am an applicant applying within Canada as described under section 215(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).

Hi, I have a question. I got accepted into a one-year program for summer 24 with an optional coop in the third semester. However, the acceptance letter says only two semesters, and I downloaded my coop letter separately from the college website which is a common letter that says “all the students enrolled for the course must complete one coop term to graduate” . I paid my first-semester fee and am in the process of extending my study permit. My question is, what is the expected date of graduation that I have to enter in IMM5709? The acceptance letter says the course ends in December, but I have a Coop in the third semester. Whether I should apply for the coop now or just extend my study permit alone and go with the coop visa later

Hey, which college are you from? If the course says that it is optional that means it is not compulsory to do the co-op that is why the acceptance letter only includes two semesters so it depends if you are willing to do the co-op or not. If you are willing to do the co-op you can ask your college for a co-op letter with the exact months and an enrolment letter for your co-op semester as well and do mention that it is for immigration purposes. Also, apply for the co-op permit along with the study extension to avoid any delay and in the IMM5709e form you can put the date when your 2 semesters and co-op will finish. I figured it out yesterday, download the document and open it in the file where has been downloaded using Adobe Acrobat Reader. I could open the document after that. But after that, there was an error message "this document enabled, extended features in Adobe Reader..." I fixed the issue by uninstalling the version of Adobe available on my laptop and installing the new one and it worked.

I have a question, 4.21 there is a question where they ask are accompany any family member who have aw status of Canada, so i am living with my husband and he have work permit so what i am going to say yes or no ?

You should say no, saying yes means that you are applying their visa with yours which is not true and it will just delay your process because then the ircc will investigate about the co applicant as well.

Heyy guys i just struggled here again, took me 14x to get it. try to review again your answers in GC key login AND THE ONLY THING THAT HELPED ME IN MY PROBLEM WAS UPDATE THE ADOBE READER! YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE NEWER VERSION! BECAUSE YOUR CURRENT ADOBE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO UPDATE IT!

Not exactly like GIC that is a big amount, just show the proof that you have paid your fees and proof that you have a job along with some funds which will show that you can afford the living over here.

Hey, by next course you mean May intake, right? it is fine if you have only booked your seat yet provided you are showing enough money in your bank account for your living expenses + the rest of the tuition fees in the account. Even if you don't have both of these combined and if you are working, you can add your paystubs so that the IRCC can know that you can afford your living or tuition. Let me know if you have any other questions.
