Fuck yea! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, it's very informative for me as a beginner. Also appreciate that you and your discord community take time to help us with our own grow questions, thank you all!
I just planted my first seeds in the beginning of the week, now that we can do it legally in germany. I like to watch your videos to see how much to water my little ones. It seems like i "overcare" a bit too much. I'm just worried that they don't survive after not really growing in a day. But I guess that's just the normal struggle when getting started without a growbox setup and just a 100 watts lamp until the plants go under the balcony sun
Hey, great to see your episodes again🎉. Have a question... Why did you use bloom nutrient on seedling stage? I mean why not grow or stuffs which helps root or something😅 Keep it going❤️
A mixture of laziness, plus a test of "beginner friendly" strategy. I was also in a bit of a rush, and didn't want to adjust the grow nute with ph down. The bloom nute naturally brings the ph closer to the ideal 6.0ph, without adjustment. I used to grow with just the floranova bloom throughout the grow cycle, and have had great results. I wanted to give it another go.
Hey! Happy to see season 2. One question, do you think its needed to lower the ph of the tap water? normally its 8+ in my town, so should I decrease it with ph down to around 6.5-6.8 for the soil? thanks!
Awesome video series. I've learned a lot. I've never seen anyone using that much light on seedlings. I've been using around 200 ppfd for the first week and increasing it gradually. Maybe that's why I'm not growing as fast. I will try 550 to 600 next time. Now are you raising the light as they grow to keep it in that range? If not then what's your maximum ppfd in veg? And then in bloom? Also wondering what temp and humidity are you shooting for in veg? Thanks for doing this series and sharing your knowledge.
Thank you! I don't move my light. (The light is on 24/0 for autos) I give about 600ppfd to seedlings, Vegging plants will be around 750ppfd, Stretching plants will be between 800-900ppfd, and after week-2 of bloom, they've stretched up to 1000-1100ppfd. If not, I'll give the plants a booster-seat to get them closer to that mark. I don't adjust my humidity, unless it's over 65% in mid-bloom, where I'll use a dehumidifier if I need to. My humidity is usually around 20% at most times. My temps are usually between 20°C-27°C (68°F-80°F), which is the ambient temperature in the house. To keep the house at a comfortable temperature, I have a heater for the winter, and an AC for the summer.
Hey thanks for making these videos. I use that same Photone app and was wondering if you were aware you were supposed to use a diffuser when taking readings. I use printer paper but I would imagine the readings without a diffuser would be way off. Thanks again for all the content.
This is how I started growing, with only the one nutrient bottle. I wanted to do a plant like the old times, to see how she goes, and for simplicity. Also, the ph of the normal concentration tends to come out to around 5.8, so it allowed me to be a little more lazy, and not worry about ph.
I always water with nutes, once I start feeding them nutes. This plant would have benefitted, if i had started with a light concentration of nutes from day 3.
@@JoaoVitor-iz1qt you're welcome to add me on discord, and join the community channel. We can share pictures, and help you more easily there. I'll start training when the trunk is 4mm+ thickness, with vertical ridges. If I choose to top, it will be between days 12-16.
Thank you! I find that they stretch too much, and don't grow fast with low intensity light. I think that the highest growth rate comes at the highest ppfd the seedlings can handle. As soon as you cross over the line though and it's too much ppfd, the seedlings will stunt and mutate. For me, that line is around 675-700ppfd
