Wow! Another good use for Dawn dish soap. I often use it to clean the lenses of my glasses and now l will add this step to cleaning my fine jewelry. I do use the polishing cloth and the Connoisseurs jewelry cleaner is the only cleaner l use on my fine jewelry. I can’t believe how the polishing cloth looked after the Dawn and the Connoisseurs cleaner. I really do need to do all three steps! Amazing!! Different clothes work better on certain jewelry. Word of caution: most of the polishing cloths are mildly abrasive, and they will scrape off a thin layer of gold whenever it's used. So you don’t want to polish your Jewelry too often. 😊
Ok no issues yet over the last few years. The love bracelet is the one that requires it most but I just let it be because it's too needy. 🤣🤣 ofc the diamonds can get polished everyday so that's where I do frequent polishing. 💎✨

Great video! I love your love for your jewelry. I have been cleaning my own and others jewelry since I was like 10 years old. I adore seeing the “before and after” and watching jewels come back to gorgeous via cleaning, as I can tell you do, too. I thought I knew it all and yet you really made me realize the polish cloths are in fact super valuable. I will add them to my cleaning days! One other idea: I recently started using Dawn PowerWash for my super hardy pieces like my platinum and diamond and solid gold/diamond rings. I have a lot of eternity rings and they really cannot be fully cleaned by a toothbrush and the PowerWash helps get between super-tight spots. As a side note, I’ve used an ultrasonic cleaner for awhile and sadly was not wowed. It eventually broke, so maybe it wasn’t a great ultrasonic cleaner. If I bought one again, I would pay more for a better quality ultrasonic cleaner.

How often do you clean and polish your jewelry? I heard that polishing gold and silver jewelry removes a tiny layer of the metal, which is why the scratches disappear after polishing, and over a long period of time it can thin out the jewelry. Either way, your jewelry pieces are gorgeous!
1-3 times a year is good. The layer is ultra thin. Your jewelry will never "disappear". Only the surface is affected. Way better than wearing scuffed, dull jewelry. ✨
@@JODIMMOSLEY Rewatching your video cause I love seeing jewelry pieces become shiny again 😊. What are your thoughts on those ultrasonic jewelry cleaners from Amazon? I got one that also came with UV light, and I purchased a separate jewelry cleaner solution for it. I add water to the cleaner plus a little bit of the solution, drop a handful if not all of my jewelry pieces in, press the start button, and wait for it to finish cleaning in 5-10 minutes. It really made my jewelry pieces shiny! There are still scratches on the pieces so you would still have to polish them afterwards, but it does save a lot of time. I'm also still totally for cleaning the pieces by hand since it's definitely a satisfying process.
@@JODIMMOSLEY It hasn't happened yet to me yet - hopefully it stays that way 😂. Which of your silver pieces gets tarnished the most easily and quickly? Which of your gold pieces too? Since it's fine jewelry I'm assuming that the rate of tarnishing depends on how often you wear the pieces. I know some silver jewelry that doesn't tarnish if you wear it often but does if you don't wear it, while other silver pieces do the opposite. I don't know why, it just happens for me. Could it be the way I store the jewelry? What is the best way to store jewelry to prevent tarnishing? I do try to make sure to keep them in a dry location like jewelry boxes.
You can use it many many times. I've been using the same one for a long time. As for "layer" when it comes to jewelry cleaning I wouldn't call it that. You can clean it like this 3 times a year and wear it a 100 years and it's not like the bracelet will lose grams or disappear. It's just a deeper polish of the surface. Totally worth doing to keep the bracelet from looking like scrap metal. Imo. 😅 ✨
@@JODIMMOSLEY I’m not sure because I’ve been looking for one myself. I don’t know if I have enough pieces to justify one. I think for you, it would definitely be worth it. There are a few on Amazon with good reviews.
I do some type of cleaning before each wear. Either I only wash or I only polish or only use my grey cloth to give them a little boost. I don't like smudges and lack of sparkle. I only do a full deep clean every other month though. ✨
