You can switch the Vaseline for coconut oil and use this on hands, knees, elbows, neck... wherever you want to keep softer skin that looks more youthful.
Please switch out the Vaseline, which is 100% petroleum jelly, for coconut oil or castor oil. Just like the name suggests, petroleum jelly (petrolatum) is derived from petroleum, a toxic crude oil, which means it is not sustainable or eco-friendly. When properly refined, petrolatum is said to have no known health concerns. However, according some sources, petrolatum is often not fully refined in the US, which means it can be contaminated with toxic chemicals called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Petroleum jelly has the unique ability to absorb into our skin and lock itself into place in between cells in our lipid barrier. Manufacturers of the stuff will tell you this creates long lasting, smooth skin. But truth be told, petroleum jelly has no moisturizing properties of its own. Instead, it acts as an impermeable barrier to the skin. Sure it will lock in whatever moisture is underneath it to give your skin the appearance of moisturized skin, but it will also lock in any dirt, sweat, or bacteria that exists. This barrier will also deter any added moisture or beneficial ingredients from other products to reach the skin. Also, since petroleum jelly is not water soluble, it does not easily wash away, which means it can build up in your system over time.
Will definitely try this I have some coconut oil and just bought some baking soda yesterday must of been a reason I did now I know why I came a cross your video 🥰 how much milk do you use?
My hands are terribly wrinkled after having to rub them fiercely for months in physical therapy to try to straighten them. It didn’t work, I’m just left being so embarrassed about them. Will this honestly help me?!
I use my lady nextdoor grandma secret lotion Klazien uut Zalk, something to do with fresh herbs and boyswhipped cream..smells funny but the result is outstanding
I tried it as per the recipe. It was hard, very gritty and rather dry. Maybe did not whip up the vaseline enough? Could be better with actual milk? It was also difficult to wash off. I will wait until tomorrow to consider the "results". TWO DAYS LATER: Hands felt more comfortable (not rushing to the handcreme so frequently), no visible difference, think that the exfoliant action of this is too harsh for my skin (in my late 60s).
