@@LilSoccerPros well we don’t see in game, there’s a major difference between judging somebody’s technical ability in a small group training and how they perform in a real 11v11 game. The technical aspect of the game is something that can be mastered with a lot of work but to play in a full game at the pro level is something that comes with experience. With that being said there is no way we can know how good he truly is(the kid).

Q&A: Should I attend College ID Camps etc. if I’m living overseas? Need your advice
@Julien2909
@Julien2909 3 года назад
From my point of view (I'm french and probably coming to play college soccer next year), you shouldn't. Nevertheless you have to understand 1 thing. If you live outside of the US you will not get crazy scholarships from d1 schools except if you're playing in a great pro club and if a recognize agency send you in the states. The thing you need is a good video, a lot of coaches will need those. My experience is the following : it's possible to get into team of every division with a video if you're good enough (and with good grades) but the best opportunity from a financial point of view will not come from ncaa d1 . You will not have a full ride for your freshman year in a d1 school but it's possible with d2, njcaa or naia school but rare. So you can take the risk to pay a lot the first year and try to get a good scholarship for your sophomore year. The only thing you should do ( if you don't live really really far from the states ) is to go if a coach invites you for a combine and if he is already really interested in you. Hope it helped you :).

Great question mate - I imagine it's difficult coming from another country to try and play in the US college system. My advice to US players is go to as many ID camps as possible, because that's SUCH a good way for you to get visibility. Exposure is everything in your career - from club, academy, college, semi-pro, and pro level. It may be too expensive to fly over, but I'd do my best to get in contact with coaches who you are interested in playing for (the University teams), and try and connect with them as early as possible. Send them highlights, CVs, and references. Have people where you live/seen you play contact the university coaches and be points of reference for you. Especially if you play at a high level academy. Hope this helps mate! All the best in your career.

Q&A: How does the transfer process in college soccer look like?
@braadyoneill
@braadyoneill 3 года назад
coming from someone who has transferred in college (Matt didn’t) it actually is surprisingly easy. You just ask your school to place you in the NCAA transfer portal where other teams and coaches and schools can see your information (year, school, position, email, etc). Once you’re in the portal, you’ll also be free to email whatever schools you like. Depending on the level you’re already at, you may even receive a few emails from schools reaching out to you in the first few days of being in the portal. It’s a unique and pretty fun experience

Q&A: I have seen alot of animes like Kuroko no Basket where athletes get into a state of extreme focus which further enchances their play known as "The Zone". So, my question is that is it really possible?,IK it's not gonna be as dramatic as in the anime but still. If possible, have you ever entered "The Zone"?

Scientists have proved that it's possible and some call this the "Flow" but it happens very rarely. For that, you have to be in your best mental and physical shape, and you have to train hard enough. (Sorry for my English I'm French)

Q&A: Matt, How do you find the willingness to comeback from setbacks? I haven't played a league competitive game since my USDA Academy days (2019) Now it's almost 2021. I have trained 6x a week Gym, and Soccer almost everyday, went to a different country to trial for a first division team in South America, played men's league, tournaments, and now I have an upcoming trial in February. But out of nowhere lately I just feel like mentally tired of soccer, and I'm never the type to quit but I feel like I'm on that road right now, just need advice on how to pick it up where it all started.

Q&A: I have the exact same dream as you. You are currently living the dream. I am 16 wondering when my time is “up”. I see these kids in Europe for example, Ansu Fati, he is 17 playing at Barcelona.. I’m currently following a workout guide and currently go to school.. Am I too late to go pro?? Should I be in Europe already? (I live in Canada).. Thank you for reading!!

QnA: you dropped out, so I’m assuming you didn’t a degree. Isn’t that risky post-playing career? You have options now with become elite (RU-vid, programs etc) I really Wonna pursue pro from a young age, but Wonna get a degree for post-career and just that overall insurance? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

#Q&A I understand that having an athletic physique is essential to play pro, and you'd 100 percent believe in that. But do you think it's possible to put other aspects like agility, speed and ball control ahead of building the dream physique, almost overcompensating for the lack of a great physique, and still compete? An example is Neymar Jr but should we think he's more reliant on gifted talent?

Q&A I was always a star striker for my local team here in the UK but got duodenum perforations at the start of covid lockdown (April) and im only just now going to be fit to play my first game/training but ive heard theyve signed a replacement. i dont know wether i should come back as i have already stunted my progress enough and sitting on the bench wont help (I play in the U16 Level)

Hey I’m 13 years old from the uk at the moment. I have a dream of becoming pro. But I can’t play unless it’s the weekend or training sessions I already have so normally 4 times a week I say in the winter an average of 6 hours a week. The reason I can’t do more is because I have school and it gets dark almost instantly when I get back. Any recommendations????
