Appreciate you for coming to look at the 9/11 Memorial. That piece of steel from the twin towers was a gift to the city from my uncle and grandpa, (Former FDNY). With several amazing people in the community, we were able to construct the memorial you seen. And last year we were able to add it to the Tour of Honor. Thank you for stopping by
Oh wow, I did not even realize that. I guess If I had taken longer and read the plaque I might have. I visited ground zero a little less than 20 years ago. It was just a giant hole in the ground at that time, fenced off, and the subway was running through the bottom of it. I had pizza at that place next to where the twin towers stood. That girder in the shape of a cross was still there. The whole experience was kind of surreal. Thank you for your donations that made the memorial possible!
