This summer I had the pleasure of heading to León in Mexico to take part in a leather workshop put on by Lefarc Tannery! I learned a ton, including how to take raw, rough, just-tanned, unfinished leather and turning it into something we can stitch on a last and turn into boots.

Hey Nick. Will you be doing a review on the White's 350 cruisers at some point? I have a pair of bounty hunters on back order. To the best of my knowledge the 350 cruiser and the bounty hunter are one in the same for the most part. Interested in your opinion on the boots.

I'm glad Nick didn't actually tan the leather the old fashioned way. Apparently urine was used and for some towns it used to be collected and sold to the tanneries and was quite a lucrative trade.

it's stronger but less flexible/stretchy so it's a lot harder to turn into boots!

Interesting. I’m a bit confused by the “mineral oil”, which is described as containing olive oil and cardamom. I thought “mineral” referred to oils derived from petroleum. I’d have thought goatskin was a little too supple for boots so it will be very interesting to see the final results.
