@YellowMelle no way! It was wonderful watching you lull all the parts of it together in the final piece. And how you respind with the way the paint and water move. It's very dynamic and that's the thing abkut watercolour.

I don’t think you meant anything all that bad by it, but teaching is hard! In an intro class you can’t really focus in on each student’s interests, instead you have to go over the fundamentals and introduce a wide range of techniques. You need students to pick out the parts that interest them and self study from there. Which, it definitely sounds like you did!

Actually "In the modern English-speaking world, the term crayon is commonly associated with the standard wax crayon, such as those widely available for use by children. Such crayons are usually approximately 3.5 inches (89 mm) in length and made mostly of pataffin wax". Then check yojrself what pencil is...

Ahhh, this is so interesting ~ and nostalgic! I completely forgot about elfwood! What I love about seeing your older sketches/ first tries at watercolour is that you can **feel** the time spent pouring over them and the focus given. There's something about the intensity of sketchbooks from people's ✨️youth✨️ which is really endearing and inspiring. I'm sure your younger self would really dig what you're doing now There's definitely something to be said about using the materials you have and not getting too hung up on the pre established rules of watercolour. If I had thought I needed certain paper and certain brushes before I could start... I simply wouldn't have started 😅

Yeah, I usually recycle my sketchbooks after a while, but the youth ones, I just can't, they're so... journaly??? but they're not? lol I also feel like I had way more focus before social media came around, when drawing for 6 hours was like nothing

Really interesting, it’s great you kept your older sketchbooks! Most of mine are in storage for a few months and I miss flicking through them😢 best wishes to you and thanks for the video 🙂👌

Thanks! I recycle old stuff all the time, too, but the high school ones have too much nostalgia 😊

Sorry I cant understand what do you want to show in this video? Everything is so chaotic and doesnt make any sense... you dont have a definite topic even though your title does... and not following rules is such a 21st century gen z or whatever person... rules make you learn how to paint you know? I wish I hadnt clicked on this video lol, im more confused than ever like what

Watercolor is not used on printer paper and on school supplies as they are impossible to use and have a good result without giving up.. theres almost everyone saying to not do this lol, any decent pad or wc sketchbook is affordable wdym lol and paints too...

youre just showing random things without context or without relevance to the title

yeah it seems like this chaos goes through not only this but probs all the videos, id advise if you want to reach more people idk to make things more clear or at least not jump from one thing to another, or start a video where everythings chaos and you dont know what you want to do or show, since the titles have no connection with the videos.. im so confused man... hope you wont take this as hate but I really like your painting style and stuff but dont understand anything from your videos... have a nice day

Yeah, fair enough! I figured the only unique perspective I could offer is that watercolour can be fun and accessible without having to be done perfectly at the very beginning when it's likely to be a struggle anyway. I couldn't afford proper paper in my youth, and yet I learned so much without it. You're right, you can get watercolour pads at the dollar store now lol. That was not the case 25 years ago. I was just trying to share my own experience and progression. Sorry it wasn't for you!
