We've initiated our ascent into this lifestyle! Currently preparing our home for Airbnb for monthly+ rental, seasonally, as we travel out West for hiking!! We live in our gorgeous, to be-Airbnb home - a very fun haven with endless sunsets outside our door! We're just 2 miles from award winning beaches of Anna Maria Island in Bradenton, FL. We're passionate about we're we live and are cultivating an airbnb 'salt life' experience as we head out West to new ones of our own, seasonally! We're in a pretty special community and we hope we can present this slice of paradise to attract families longing for unique tropical memories. I LOVE THIS IDEA AND WOULD LIKE TO DO IT. THE PROBLEM NOW FOR US IS THST AS WE AGE WE ALSO NEED TO KNOW WHAT MEDICAL FACIILITIES ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE IN THE AREA. I run two airbnbs one in the US and one in Mexico.
You are right on with all this! Love your videos! I almost try not to watch your videos because I get way too excited and want to do more like this. lol. We have family and friends in Florida and Texas and have three Airbnbs in northern Michigan. Two are small homes in RV park only available May thru end of October and one in part of my home year round. Traveling to Port Charlotte, FL, soon and staying wth a friend one week and an Airbnb another week. Would like to check out Dunedin, FL for starters. My husband is a stone and brick mason and works all summer but in winter we need a place to go for a little bit and want to invest there for future. We both have hospitality backgrounds and it comes natural to us. He can't lift stone forever and also is a picker and loves to collect and sell to the point where I am helping him open up a little shop on our 40 acres this spring . . . Amish building coming after excavating after winter. OH, and did I mention the campsite (our funnest Airbnb)? Love watching how different people camp from tents attached to vehicles to large RV to $1500 tents! This idea was totally inspired by an Airbnb guest a couple years ago. People love it! Just put new MARMOLEUM floors in our whole first floor living space before husband had hernia surgery. He is recovering at the moment and it's gonna be hard to keep him down for six weeks. We've had many come to our places and work remotely. As we speak we have a couple coming who sold their home and want to stay here a month in February as they visit wth their son and his wife who just had a baby. Who would know that someone would want to come here during such a lame month. Helps us out while he is out of work so you have to be ready for anything. STR has been such a blessing to us and we've made great friends!
This is the plan that my wife and I came up with about 5 years ago. We now have (2) airbnbs and are working on acquiring more and adopting this lifestyle. The only thing is, we have a 4 year old and we have this desire to keep him in a traditional single location with friends, sports, school, etc... We could either say screw it and home school as we travel or we could wait another 15 or so years until he's off to college. Tough decision for us.
