Can you do a video on that? I've had this a few days now & I cant get no sound from it in the control ctr app. Not sure if theres supposed to be sound, but I've tried so much with no luck. FL studio, same thing. No sound. It shows it in the midi settings but nothing. Plays no sound. Just a little help?

I’m pretty sure if on an akai mpk mini if you click on prog select that can control the channel the pads control and it’s also cool that you came back to this old vid

@@ikeaman7247 if you right click a channel, you can lock it to receive notes from a certain midi channel... depending on what your controller can do, some pads can actually be programmed to be operating on banks other than the global one (if you have the option, you typically have 16... typically). So in a sample easy use-case, if keys are all on Channel 1, and you have your pads mapped to play whatever notes your hearts desire but on midi Channel 3... by right clicking on FPC, you can actually lock it to receive midi notes from a certain channel by going through the menu and selecting the channel number (in this case Channel 3). I believe you may also have to keep Midi Thru on in order for this to work which is in the sample right-click menu when clicking on any sampler channel. This way, you can AT LEAST play keys when you have any sampler/generator/whatever selected BUT your pads will always go through. You can also do this in reverse by always having your drums selected, but then selecting a different sampler channel to have midi through and locking receive notes from whatever channel your keys are on (let's say 5 from 1-16), and then if pads are always on 1 because you can't change it, you just stay on the pads channel in terms of a focused channel. There's probably a few other ways around this depending on your controller and what it can do, but just some ideas to maybe get creative and figure something out that works for your workflow/gear.

Okay, try using the Trap template as your fresh start. If you click on FPC and open the mixer, you'll see that they route the channels individually. In the top right of the fpc window it should say Midi Note - Cut - Cut by - Output. Theyll have the first few channels for mastering the main and left and right, then put FPC on the 4th channel. Think of it as the base channel. If you raise the Output number, that pad's output will go to that many above the base channel. So if your FPC is routed to channel 4, and your Kick pad Output is set to 3, your Kick will be on Channel 7 in the mixer. Hope this helps.
