OMGosh, I had several Russell Stover Fruit Chews, which, on the front, says 'sugar free' made with stevia extract, and ingredients, first ingredient states Maltitol. Had horrible stomach pain, diarrhea, after I ate them, and thought, what the heck??? Had no idea that was probably it. Im checked, as you mention this, and, yep, there it was!!! Now I know what to watch for in my ingredients. Had no idea that was a possibility. Thanks for the heads up!!!❤
Yep sugar free stuff is sometimes worse than just going ahead and eating the regular sugar stuff. Cause of the sugar alcohol it contains. A lot of people don't realize just cause it said sugar free they can eat it. So, thanks for pointing that out. Also, between my hubby and you, y'all really encouraged me to get up and make my own stuff. I was already starting to slowly make my own stuff, but this is the real push I needed. Love your recipes. Did the big Mac salad the other day, it was really good. Getting more into the low carb lifestyle.

Years ago I developed a sensitivity to ALL forms of soy. It is a blessing in disguise. I always have to read labels of any baked good I might buy. I literally thank God that I have found some sandwich rolls that do not have soy in them. All most ALL baked goods you buy at a supermarket have soybean oil in them. BTW mayonnaise main ingredient: soybean oil.
Omg, i literally bought the Russell Stover bag of mixed chocolates. I ate 3 of them today and felt neausea, flatulence so bad! Ugh. This is how i found you channel while i was searching for low carb meals.

Maltitol really mess up my stomach i check my food labels all the time , i don't care how long it takes me but i don't want to be eating stuff that harm my body❤
Maltitol takes time to get used to. The first time I had it, I made the mistake of eating a bunch of gummies with them and was on the toilet for the rest of the day. Nowadays it doesn't affect me.
I can totally relate to this! I had the worst stomach distress every after eating it and tried it a few more times but I don't think my body ever got used to it...and I'm also scared 😟 I'm glad it doesn't affect you as much!
Yes, I have gotten very sick from malitol in sugar free candy. I also get horrible stomach issues from erythritol. How do you feel about that ingredient?
I cannot tolerate Stevia. I ended up in the ER from eating stevia. Stevia acts as a diuretic and a vasodilator. I had my aortic valve replaced in April 2022, and I have to look out Stevia. Two very scary episodes where I experienced arrhythmias and high to low BP issues.

I didn't have any adverse side effects with Maltitol except it became super addictive. I wanted more and more. Come to find out, it's proven super addictive.
I've always enjoyed your videos over other "keto" people like Thomas Delauer and others. They just get too science-y and to me, present a crazy, not liveable diet. I'm 35 and recently went from 310 in June to 263 today. I want to lose another 40lbs and I've started working out to help with that. I don't want to be a chemist or a from-scratch baker. I want to live my life and be healthy for my wife and 3 kids by avoiding the junk fillers they put in our food. You're videos are helping me "reimagine" normal, everyday food my family and I can eat without becoming a Ph.D. in nutrition.

I have lost over 160Lbs. I love your videos. You give so many ideas and great tips. Weight loss is so much easier when you can substitute your food habits with reduced products. Always check the labels and make sure there isn’t to many sugars salts or processed ingredients.
Primal Kitchen is a great alternative to the typical salad dressings, if you don't want to make your own. Clean as can be, since they use Avocado oil. They also make some great BBQ sauce that tastes great and is very low carb. The brand is a bit expensive, but worth it IMO.
Mayra- you are a Godsend! I am back on Keto due to weight gain and swelling. I found you during COVID and your tips and recipes helped me tremendously. Great video, Myra! I have been telling family and friends to read every package for a few years now. Maltitol is the worst of all sugar alcohols, in my opinion. I do say, however, that fructose is definitely worse than table sugar due to how your body processes these two forms of sugar. Fructose is hard on your liver. Everyone is different. There is so much research into sugar and sugar substitutes and why each one is technically "safe". I personally have had pretty bad effects with aspartame and sometimes sucralose if I have it on a consistent basis. So, I actually prefer sugar and high fructose corn syrup to these sweeteners. I think they are more natural and do not effect me in a negative way, You will of course gain a ton of weight eating a lot of sugar, but everyone knows that :)

I'll buy the Hershey's miniatures or small peanut butter cups or the Russel Stover's candies, but will limit myself to no more than one per day.. Once I bought the gummy bears made with maltitol but ate no more than four a day. You have to be careful! Also, regarding salad dressings...they are really easy to make at home and taste SO MUCH BETTER! Thanks for the great video!

You are so right with the maltitol. I loved those Russell Stover’s turtles but I would either get so painfully bloated or have terrible diarrhea! So disappointing for me.😢
I liked the valuable information in this video BUT the earpounding music ( 🎶 ?) drove me to MUTE the entire video and go to CAPTIONS ON MODE. I ❤ hearing you talking dieting correctly, your voice expressions add so much understanding about exactly 💯 where you stand on certain topics. Having to MUTE because of the music (🎶?) them left me missing 😪 your beautifully candid narratives. Thankfully I don't see these sound level issues often but I did feel that I had to mention it about this video.
I just checked a lot of what I use occasionally, and they do have some of the bad stuff. I shop at Walmart a lot and they carry a chocolate chip brand called Bake Believe which has no added sugars and none of the bad stuff.
I just found your channel and really enjoy the content. However I find the the background music to be too loud and distracting. You don’t really need music. Your content is already so good.

My favorite is the uncured natures promised turkey bacon. It’s almost like a jerky once you get done cooking I love it and it comes up healthy on Yuka as not having any hazardous ingredients
