Top path farm is harder to use but: It can pay off with just *1* wave and every wave onward will grant you a hellot of money if you have defenses around them Despite taking precious defensive tower spaces, it adds base hp to compensate, in worst cases it allows you to tank lategame enemies without spending a single penny on additional towers. Bottom path farm is better in general due to top path farm need long maps with a lot of waves, top path only begin picking up pace in mid-lategame and bottom path performs consistently between waves.
You can just use bottom path farms for the early and mid game, and then just make your last farms top path. Because if you have high value bottom path farms already, the top path is good.
You can do 0 - 3 farm in early game to farm faster in getting 4 - 2 and defenses. Then Mid game go for 4 - 2 farms cost about 15k to get one entirely, with 4 - 2 farms now you can spend on upgrades that cost a lot while having stability in your economic growth. Edit: It's a lot harder when doing it in mobile to micro farming
Hi elite i finally beat on expert without artillery instead using MT i literally struggling from like wave 24 there so many fast armor zombie stealth and i survive by juggernaut and yea im so close to lose but i won at the end of the map by spam juggernaut

solo expert isnt that hard nowadays, u could use railgunner, mine layer and other towers to solo it, while no one in tdx reached even 1 million dollars without admin
