The challenges, how does this telecaster printed home made guitar sound and what did it cost me. This will change your thoughts on tone woods, we 3D printed a telecaster guitar with a STL file that can be found on Thingyverse. I used PLA and a 50% infill on a 20x20 Anet budget printer. It took me over a week to print but it does look awesome and was a lot of fun, some of the time !!
Here is the file: www.thingivers...

@@GuitarsandDrones Are you printing at 100% infill?
@GuitarsandDrones
@GuitarsandDrones Год назад
@@AlternateArmsSD No I did 50% for the two main blocks in the middle and just 10% for the outside edges

What an awesome idea and surprisingly enough, the tone sounds great on resin 3d material. Well done! You gained a subscriber out of me.

If you make one be sure to make the string thru area stronger

could I do this by getting a cheap generic stratocaster and taking the neck and electronics from it?
@GuitarsandDrones
@GuitarsandDrones 9 месяцев назад
Yeh, I did it using a cheap $70 Telecaster I see no reason a strat would be much different

Stop using grid infill! That glue seemed to work well but it requires a lot of patience, lol! I used an epoxy, it was much faster :)
@GuitarsandDrones

What infil is better or should i use thanks 👍 and yeh that glue has fixed a lot of stuff even a coat lol 😜

@@GuitarsandDrones if you use grid infill, the head can hit the previous layer as it crosses over it and can knock the model off the plate. Try the gyroid pattern. It’s very strong and doesn’t cause the head to cross over itself. Grid infill can be the cause of a lot of problems.

GREAT VIDEO. Is there any chance of acquiring the Solid Works files in "step" format ? I want to use a small laser to cut the profiles out of 1/4" plywood & your "stl" files will not import into my cad system. Thanks Ted
